County GOP Sets Caucus Wood County Republicans will hold their annual caucus at 2 p.m. Sunday, at the Elks Club in Wisconsin Rapids. Officers for 1975-77 will be elected as will delegates to the district caucus in Wausau April 12 and the State Convention in Green Bay June 21.

County Chairman Lila (Mrs. Fred) Fletcher of Marshfield issued a challenge to those who are "turned off" by politics saying, "Republicans and Independents demonstrated their disenchantment with politics last Nov. 5 by staying away from the polls in record numbers. How much better it would have been had they involved themselves at the grass roots from which springs all meaningful reform." Mrs. Fletcher urged fellow Republicans to again become active at the county level.

She invited interested persons to volunteer to serve as delegates to the district and state conventions. They may make their wishes known at the caucus Sunday, she added. Cottage Burglarized David Wendle, 1411 S. Maple notified police Tuesday that someone stole a 19-inch 'portable television during the weekend from his cottage located along the Big Eau Pleine Flowage in the town of Cleveland. Marathon County police said entry was gained by forcing open the front door.

Feigleson Winner in Stevens Point Voting James Feigleson, a former Marshfield resident, is one of two candidates who survived Tuesday's five-man mayoralty primary race at Stevens Point. The other is Robert Krubsack. Feigleson polled over 40 per cent of the vote (2004) and Krubsack a little more than half as much (1043). Paul Borham, the incumbent, received 965. The two other candidates totalled less than votes.

Feigleson's father, the late Harry Feigleson, was a Marshfield grocery merchant before moving to Stevens Point, and his mother is the former Olive Ebbe of this community. The candidate is a member of the Central Wisconsin Scottish Rite Club here. Overheated Dryer Causes Minor Fire Fire in an overheated clothes dryer Tuesday afternoon caused extensive damage to the dryer and some smoke damage in the basement of the Wildwood Court Apartments, 301 W. 17th St. Firemen responded to the call at 2:09 p.m.

Mrs. Ann Irving Announcement has been received of the recent death of Mrs. Ann Irving, of Long Beach. Calif. The former Ann Eastman was reared in the Nasonville community and attended Marshfield Senior High School, graduating in 1913.

She was a teacher by profession. Reichert Funeral Rites were conducted at 10:30 a.m. today at St. John's Catholic Church for Mrs. Norma Reichert, 74, of 305 N.

Pine who died Monday at the Marshfield Convalescent Center. Officiating was the Rev. George C. Passehl, associate pastor, and burial was made in Gate of Heaven cemetery. Pallbearers were Robert and Thomas Baer, Gordon H.

Earll, Joseph Schuh. Cecil Fowler and Clifford Eckes. John Henninger Word has been received here by Bernard Henninger of the death of his brother, John Henninger. of Beloit, a former resident of Chili. John Henninger died Monday afternoon in a Beloit hospital.

Funeral services and burial will take place Friday at Beloit. He is survived by a son and a daughter, three brothers, Bernard. Marshfield, Emil, Gran-ton, and Adolph, Elgin, Iowa, and a sister. Hearing Slated In Theft Case WISCONSIN RAPIDS -Kelson Edwards, 28, route 4, Black River Falls, was charged in Wood County Court here Tuesday afternoon with taking and driving an auto without the owner's consent. A preliminary hearing was scheduled for 2:30 p.m'. next Tuesday. Edwards is charged with the theft of a car belonging to Walter Frost, Babcock, from a City Point parking lot Friday night. He is being held in lieu of a $250 cash bond.

Eugene Huebner, 53, route 1, Auburndale, was ordered confined to Wood Cbunty Jail until he posts $250 and a trial date is set on a charge of driving while under the influence of intoxicants. Trial had originally been scheduled for Feb. 11, but Huebner failed to appear. Judge Frederick A. Fink ordered the $250 Huebner had previously posted on the charge be forfeited to the court.

He had been residing at the Medford Memorial Nursing Home five years prior to that time. Funeral services and committal rites will be conducted at 1 p.m.

Friday at the Hemer Funeral Home with the Rev. Roger Tellock, pastor of St. Paul American Lutheran Church at Curtiss, officiating. Burial will be made in the Perkinstown Community cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 4 p.m.

to 9 p.m. Thursday. Mr. Olson was born March 12, 1887. in the town of Little Black, where he received his education.

He spent a short time in Canada and later lived and farmed in the woods in and around the town of Holway, retiring in 1960. His marriage in 1926 was to the former Alma Nelson, who preceded him in death June 8, 1958. Survivors include four sons, Alvin. Arlington. Texas, Edwin.

Wales, Casper Withee. and Eugene, Medford; two daughters. Mrs. Katherine Singleton. Withee.

and Mrs. Glenn (Doris) Faude. East Troy: a brother, Anton, living in Canada; 19 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by a son. three brothers and two sisters.

Central avenue at 12:25 p.m. Cars driven by John Bloc-zynski, 612 S. Cherry and Ellen M. Ortner, route 2, Pittsville, collided in the 600 block of St. Joseph avenue at 7:01 a.m.

A car driven by Russell L. Wrolstad, 1810 N. Central backed into one parked by James A. Langreck, route 3, Marshfield, in a lot in the 300 block of S. Central avenue at 11:45 a.m.

Sunshine Brightens Weather Picture Wisconsin's weather picture began clearing up today after several days with snow clouding the scene. In Marshfield the sky was blue this morning, and bright sunshine was sending the mercury into the 30s and working on the residue from two days of snow flurries. Downtown, Tuesday's high temperature was 34 degrees; the overnight low was 19. Officially, the Marshfield Experimental Farm registered a high of 36 yesterday, with the overnight low 15 degrees. Increasing cloudiness from the northwest is forecast for tonight with temperatures mostly in the teens.

Thursday is expected to be partly cloudy and warmer, with highs in the 30s. Injunction Asked MADISON, Wis. (AP) The State Bar of Wisconsin requested an injunction Tuesday to prevent a disbarred Minnesota attorney from giving further legal assistance to U.S. District Court defendants. Gordon C.

AP) Ron Schmidt raises calves and chickens for a living and rides a bike for recreation. But his wife doesn't think he's exceptional, even though he's blind. "Living with Ron, I don't think he's special," Bonnie Schmidt says. "I get so tired of hearing people say, the blind Where's his Superman Schmidt, who lost his sight as a child, grew up on his father's 650-acre farm near Springport, Mich. He earned a degree in physics from the University of Michigan.

"When I was in high school, physics seemed to be where the action was," Schmidt says now. "But all the jobs seemed to dry up." He worked briefly at a variety of other jobs before deciding to get back to his "first love," farming and raising animals, with a $13,000 grant from the Michigan Service for the Blind. Schmidt, 28, is raising 26 calves and about 200 chickens on 80 acres of rolling, wooded farmland. He does all the work himself without aid of a cane, dog or any other device. He says he can tell by the echo of footsteps and voices how close he is to buildings, doors and his animals.

He rides his 2-year-old son, Nathan, on his bike and stays on the gravel roadway by listening to the echoes off the grass-covered shoulder. "If you knew Ron better, you'd soon realize this is no big deal." says Mrs. Schmidt, 24. "Listen, he bumps into things and sometimes he rides his bike into the ditch.
