I lie was I regarded as an easv judging I from Lis last two appearances here, but the Coast Defense manager sprung a surprise by sending into the ox Hundley, who usually plays fi'st base in the artillery lineup.

With the exception of two innings whea the cavalry batsmen took very kindly to his offerings, he pitched a dandy game and with the rattling good support that his teammates gave him, fhe rest was easy. Henowski opened for the Cavalry, bnt he was as wild as possible, and the hook had to be produced in the third, leaving Oaks to inherit a legacy of three on. The first man to face (takes hit to Fitpatriek. and the bail got through him and sailed on out to left field and between Kit "pat rick 's indifference in fielding the Pall and Duncan's wild heave to catch the batsmen at third, four' runs crossed the pan. The batting stars were Man gum and Donaldson, the latter also stealing three bases. The game was the last nee of the Coast Defense on the local diamond during the jTosent series. The.

detailed score follows: i 5 Schofield Barracks Nine Make Tally 4 to 1 After Many Exciting Plays. At last the ball Jiave learned to say "auwe," aud they it properly yesterday aftor-Jioon, when the Twenty-fifth infantry took them into t-amp to the tune of 4 to 1. The victory of the Army r'ost nine was very popular with the ol-diery, who were present in la rye num bers. The jame showed more variety than the otlier games playel in the jireseut series. For instance, there was triple play brought off by the Twenty-fifth iu the eighth inning that made the fans cheer for a minute or so.

The maa on second was out, tdiort to baseman, the runner was killed at first and when Forbes, from third attempted to come home he was put out at the plate. Jt was a fine bit of work aud the first of its kin 1 seen for a Ion time on a Honolulu diamond. The ball passed through four pairs of hauls, short to second to first to catcher. Forbes covered himself with glory by making a home run by a tremendous hit to eenterfield. It was a great wallop and the, ball traveled right down to the fence before it was retrieved.

Forbes ran like a deer and made the circuit in great style. Waterhouse Did Well. There was also a double play by the Twenty-fifth that brought forth cheers. Taking it altogether, it was a good contest ami Waterhouse of the Twenty-fifth won his own game. He did good stick work and, besides, pulled himself out of many a hole.

There was no score for the first three innings and the only tally made by Cabforaia was Forbes' home run in the fourth. The Twenty-fifth scored first in the last half of the sixth, when they notched one in the following ma liner: Waterhouse bunted beautifully and made first while the pitcher and first baseman chased the ball and left the sack unguarded. Then Woods came up and, as O'Jlara balked, Waterhouse went to second. Woods made a fine sacrifice and Waterhouse advanced to third. Cullens scored Waterhouse by a hit to eenterfield.

and a second later was caught oft his sack by a smart bit of play. One run and the score tied. Twenty-fifth Make Three. In the first half of the seventh California went out in one, two three order, and then the big doings of the yweuty-nitn eventuated. Willis put one into fhe catcher's mitt.

Dunlap, a pinch hitter, went out. short to first-Collins made a hit to center and reached first in easy fashion. Smith, hit by pitcher, took his base. Waterhouse then landed out a beauty and scored Collins, while Smith got, to third. Woods made first and Smith came home.

Waterhouse then added one more run whea Schaeffer made a bad peg to second to get Woods. Three Tuns, and the Schofield rooters then did some weird stunts. Neither side scored in the eighth or ninth inning, although Hodge was put in as a pinch hitter by the Californians. Willis Good Work. One of the features of the game was a wonderful barehand stop of a red-hot one from Cifkin by Willis on third.

The ball was traveling like a bullet and Willis held it and returned the sphere to first without an instant's delay. The work was applauded as it deserved. The Twenty-fifth made no errors and California tallied one. The crowd at the game was not as large as might have been expected, but, for a Monday, it was good enough. The Nchofield rooters came in from the country in a special train and they filled the Ewa bleachers to overflowing.

There was a sprinkling of fans on the other bleacher seats and the firandstaud was partly filled. There was great rejoicing at the end of the game and the Army Post fans went up town feeling very happy. The full score follows: v-- a 1 fcNw urn I. SLR THOMAS UPTON'S MIA.MROCK IV.
