He said reliable reports suggested paid assassins were after him. Light winds will be variable and at around 5mph today with a 20 percent chance of rain in the forecast. Tonight and Tuesday will have a 30 percent chance of showers, under fair to partly cloudy skies. Highs will be around 90 degrees and the lows will be about 75 degrees. The extended forecast for Wednesday through Friday calls for partly cloudy skies and a chance of scattered thunderstorms each day. Highs will be in the upper 80s Wednesday and Thursday, and in the mid-80s Friday.

Lows will range from 65 to 75 degrees. Pensacola's high Sunday was a record-breaking 95 degrees, just matching the high recorded of 95 in 1980. The morning low was 73 degrees, and the relative hu midity was at 59 percent Sunday evening. No rain was recorded at the Pensacola Regional Airport during the 24-hour period prior to 7 p.m., Sunday evening. Heavy rainfall caused flooding and closed highways in Texas on Sunday and snowfall covered some mountain peaks in Colorado, as many areas of the United States got their first taste of cooler weather.

As much as 10 inches of rain fell overnight in southern Texas and flood warnings were posted for the Rio Grande River. Flood waters poured out of the Rio Con-chos River in Mexico, swelling the Rio Grande. Flooding closed highways in Bandera and roads in several counties. More than 2 inches fell near Seward, during the past two days and a flood watch was posted until Tuesday for low areas near the Resurrection River.
