I I 1 MM II llffllff'klllll I I I I I I II r- Whitfield, 58, was sentenced last week to 50 years in prison on charges in the drugging and theft of about $300,000 from an elderly Pensacola woman. The new charges allege that Whitfield concealed financial records in a warehouse before the trial, that she altered a letter used as evidence in the trial and that she tried to influence a witness to change his testimony. Suspect in fraud to go to Arkansas By Melanie Hiett News Journal An elderly man charged with stealing nearly $4 million from senior citizens will be returned to Arkansas for trial.

Nils Eugene Flannes, who was arrested Monday by FBI agents at his apartment on Okaloosa Island, waived extradition to Arkansas in federal court in Pensacola on Wednesday. U.S. Marshals will transport Flannes to Arkansas within 10 days. A November 1988 indictment charges Flannes with mail and wire fraud and states he bilked 116 people out of their life savings in schemes dating back to 1976. Flannes, 69, was twice featured on the television show "Unsolved Mysteries." Flannes disappeared from the Hot Springs, area in April 1988, seven months before he was indicted.
