Man raped, robbed in Fort Pickens facility A 30-year-old man was raped early Saturday morning in a bathroom at Fort Pickens on Pensacola Beach, according to the Escambia County Sheriffs Department. The victim said he went to the Battery Cooper area of Fort Pickens at 4 a.m. to find a friend.

He said he was in the bathroom when two men approached him from behind and began striking him in the face. One of the men forced the victim to perform sex acts while the other held the victim. The victim was then forced to lav across his vehicle and remove his clothes. The same man who forced the victim into sex acts said, "If you scream, I'll kill you." He then continued the sexual assault, reports said. The suspects took the victim's vehicle and wallet, which contained $100, and fled east toward Pensacola Beach.

Pedestrian in hospital after being hit by car A 43-year-old Pensacola resident was in guarded condition Monday night at Baptist Hospital after being hit by a car Sunday night. James C. Dykes, 2000 block of Colony Road, Pensacola, was crossing Mobile Highway when he was struck by a car driven by Marcellus Smith III, 17, 100 block of Edison Drive, Pensacola, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. The accident happened at 9:30 p.m. on Mobile Highway south of Wabash Avenue, troopers said.

The impact knocked Dykes 39 feet. He landed in the center of the northbound lane. No charges have been filed against Smith; charges are pending against Dykes. Suspect in robbery, auto theft in jail A Pensacola man accused of be-ing involved in an armed robbery and auto theft was jailed Monday without bond. Willie James Young, 29, 2900 block of Rhythm Street, was arrested Sunday on Tarragona Street and taken to the Escambia County Jail.

Young is suspected of being one of two men who robbed a man early Sunday, taking the victim's car, a gold chain valued at $200, and $15, Deputy Carol Newman said. Later, Pensacola police investigated a car accident at 4:27 a.m. at Cross and Guillemard streets involving the victim's car. Witnesses said two men got out of the car and ran. Young fit the description of one of the men who ran from the accident scene, Newman said.

Newman said Young refused to identify himself, but he was taken to the jail where officers were able Jo identify him from jail files. He was a retired employee of Hofy Cross Catholic Cemetery and received an award for outstanding, loyal and dedicated service from the Diocese of PensacolaTallahassee. He was a veteran of the United States Army, a member of Church of the Living God (C.W.F.F.), and a member of the board of trustees. Survivors include his wife, Ruby L. He was 79. "I don't think you could have moved him out of Pensacola," said his son Charles Gonzalez III. "He and my mother lived in the same house in East Hill for 54 years. He didn't have any interest to move anywhere else. Mr.

Gonzalez was a great-great-grandson of Don Manuel Francis Gonzalez, a prominent Spanish colonist who came to Pensacola in 1784 with a land grant from the king of Spain. The Gonzalez settlement was called Bohemia, now a subdivision off Scenic Highway on Escambia Bay. Mr. Gonzalez was born and raised in Bohemia. He was a graduate of Pensacola High School and the University of Florida.

During World War II, Mr. Gonzalez was manager of Defense Petroleum Craft barge projects, which shipped oil along the Gulf Coast. He retired in 1983 as vice president of Bell Steel where he worked for 25 years. 1736 North 18th Avenue, died Monday, April 23, 1990 at his home. Mr.

Gonzalez was a native and lifelong resident of Pensacola. He was born at Bohemia on Escambia Bay in 1910. His parents were Charles F. and Margaret Sheppard Gonzalez. He was a member of Theta Chi Fraternity at the Universityof Florida, was manager of Defense Petroleum Craft Bay projects during World War II, retired as vice president of Bell Steel Co. in 1983. He was an active member of the Pensacola Chamber of Commerce Military Affairs Committee for many years, was a member of the Pensacola Rotary Club and several social clubs. He was crowned DeLuna of the Fiesta of Five Flags in 1975 and was preceded in death by his sister, Rhoda Gonzalez Cary and his brothers, Frank and M.F. Gonzalez.

Survivors Include: his wife, Mary Morgan Holsberry Gonzalez; a son and daughter-in-law, Charles F. Gonzalez III and Mollie Gonzalez; a daughter and son-in-law, Rhoda Mary Gonzalez Warren and William H. Warren brother, Harry R. Gonzalez of West Palm Beach; grandchildren, Charles F. Gonzalez IV and his wife Annabelle, Ensign Thomas F.

FISHER-POU WILHELMINA MARGARET HOLCOMB Wilhelmlna Margaret Holcomb, 75, of Pensacola, died Saturday morning, April 21, 1990 at her residence. She was a native and lifelong resident of Pensacola, was a member of the St. Michael's Catholic Church and was retired from the Medical Center Clinic with over 30 years of service. Survivors include: two sons, Stephen Holcomb of Gulf Breeze, Lt. Michael Holcomb of Kings Bay, her mother, Alma P.

Wells of Pensacola, two sisters, Gloria Cross of Mobile, Fredericks Eason of Foley, a brother, Kenneth Wells of Pensacola; and four grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 25, 1990 in St. Michael's Catholic Church with the Very Rev. Richard Bowles, V.F., officiating.

Jones, 83, of Pensacola, died Sunday evening, April 22, 1990 in a local hospital. Mr. Jones was a native of Greenwood, Miss, and a lifetime resident of Pensacola. He was retired from the U.S. Navy, a member of the Fleet Reserve, Masonic Lodge 24, York Rite, and a member, Deacon, and former treasurer for 25 years with the East Brent Baptist Church.

Survivors include: his wife, Kathren Jones; two daughters, Edna Williams of Ft. Collins, Lena "Brandy" Brandon of Pensacola; five grandchildren, Pat Brown, Joe Fagerstrom, Joan Jones, Jacksie Goodwin, Judy Lynn; and ten great-grandchildren. DUNHAM James M. Dunham, 84, of Pensacola, died Satuday, April 21, 1990 in a local hospital. Mr. Dunham was a native of White Oak, N.C., but had resided in Pensacola for the past 37 years, coming here from North Carolina. He was a retired real estate agent and a member of the Ensley United Methodist Church.

Survivors Include his brother, Layton Dunham of Avon Park; his sister, Gertrude Smith of Fayetteville, N.C.; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 1 1 a.m. Tuesday in Rogers-Northview Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Mary Beth Cloyd, pastor of Ensley United Methodist Church officiating.
