.........74 Precipitation None Wind Northwest obituary MARSHAL PUGH, ENGINEER, DEAD FORMER EAU CLAIREITE FOLLOWING TWO-YEAR ILL-, NESS AT CAMBRIA W. T. Pugh, one of the most beloved and faithful deputy marshals ever to have served in the western district of Wisconsin, is dead. He died at 6:30 Wednesday evening his home in Cambria, where he moved two, years ago from Superior. Death came after his health had failed steadily for the past two years.

Mr. Pugh, who was about. 84 years of age, was still commissioned as deputy United States marshal at the' time of his death. During his 16 years service in Superior as deputy marshal, Mr. Pugh gathered a host of friends who thought him a "wonderful" me man, according to sentiments expressed the Superior Telegram.

Members of the marshal's office and the entire federal court system expressed sinsere sorrow and regrets when they were informed by wire Wednesday evening of Marshal Pugh's death. Marshal Pugh. was a veteran locomotive engineer, having served in that capacity for the Omaha railroad company at Eau Claire before he was appointed deputy 1901. Will Touton, United States marshal for the western. district of Wisconsin, who has worked with Mr.

Pugh for many years, said he was a "wonderful man and a faithful servant." He served first in Madison and later was transferred to Superior where he retained his post of duty until two years ago. He was then succeeded by Hans P. Fuley, present deputy marshal with headquarters at Superior. Besides the great number friends he has, Mr. Pugh is survived by his widow.

There are no children. MRS. C. M. ANDERSON Funeral services for the late Mrs.

C. M. Anderson will be held at 2:30 o'clock on Saturday afternoon from the Second Congregational church, Rev. S. P.

Luce officiating. Interment in Lake View cemetery. WALTER LEE MARKGRAFF Walter Lee Markgraff age years, died at Chippewa Falls Thursday evening following an illness of four years. He is survived by his father and mother, two brothers, and one sister. Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock from Lenmark's.

The quartet was standing alongside a railroad track in Madison when a passing freight train sucked them against the box cars. The injured are brothers, Charles Whitney, and Marvin, 12. boys, Charles lost his right arm under the wheels of the train and Marvin escaped with bruises about the legs. The two boys held by police are Claude Cowan, 11, and Merle Clark, 12. The boys left Rockford Wednesday and spent Wednesday night under a bridge at Janesville, they said.
