THE DELPKOS HERALD DELPHOS TEAM IS VICTORIOUS HERE SUNDAY Merchants Baseball Team Successful in its Second Start of the "Twomile Tigers" at South Clay Field in Well-Played and Interesting Contest. The Delphos Merchants baseball team won Sunday hi its second start the season, defleatlng the speedy "Two-mile in a well-played and interesting game by a score of 5 to 4. A timely hit by Dickman with bases full in the fourth Inning was the high point of the game. Up to this time, neither team had scored. Ebbeskkotte had led off with a single to short.

Meeklns was safe on a hit past first. Ditto struck out. Swick singled to left, filling the bases. Burnett flied out to third. With two down and the bases clogged.

Dickman came to bat and singled to left. The ball was returned by way of short, who overthrew at the plate and a total of three runs came in, Dickman perching on third. Grewe then hit safely to right, scoring Dickman. Five of the ten hits credited to Delphos were made In this inning. Hits by Westrich and Meekins in the lifth resulted in the scoring of another run for Delphos, making their total five.

They threatened again in the eighth inning when Raabe, batting for Muniott, singled to right and Swick doubled to left. Both died on bases, however. The "Tigers" scored two runs on three hits and an error in the sixth and two more eighth on a walk and a single -and double. Pal Davis pitched for Delphos, allowing nine hits. Those receiving basketball letters were John Heck, William Huysman, Harold Williams, Robert McCabe, Robert Stallkamp. Walter Patterson, Ralph Orlo Miller.
