and Mrs. Clarence Craft of Route 1, Magee, announce the marriage of their daughter, Joan, to Larry Blakeney, son of Mr. and Mrs. Earnest Blakeney of Route 1, Taylors-ville. The wedding was solemized on May 19 at 2 o'clock in the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.

A reception was held in the home of the bride's parents following the wedding. Reception At "Oak Haven Honors Mr. And Mrs. Mcintosh hter on her maternal maternal side of Mrs. T.

L. Petty and the late Mr. Petty of Harperville. Her paternal grand parents.were the late Mr. and Mrs.

B. Leach of Harperville. Mr. Baldwin's paternal grand parents are Mr. and Mrs.

Glen Baldwin of Magee and he Is the maternal grandson of Mrs. Shirley Maddox and the late Mr. Maddox of Magee. The wedding will be solemnized June 23 at 2 o'clock at Beu-lah Baptist Church. The public is invited through the media of the press.

Melba Anderson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. R. C. Anderson of Magee, will compete in the State FFA Sweetheart Contest at Mississippi State University June 27-29.

The lovely lG-year old will compete for the coveted title a-long with nearly 200 girls from throughout the state. Melba has won many honors and awards, including Simpson County Queen of the Forrest and state FHA vice-president. She is a senior at Magee High School where she is most active in school activities. At M. H.

S. she is president elect of the Future Homemakers of America, active in Y-Teens, the Beta Glee and Library Clubs. She is a member of the Paper Staff and general director of the Pep Squad and has also earned her junior and chapter degrees in homemaking. This past school year, Melba was the overall maid in the FFA court and junior maid in the FHA court. Very civis minded she was chairman of the Teens Against Polio Drive in Magee earlier this year.

The 5'5" lass is president of Recent Miss Frankie Nell Monk, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edd Honk of Mendenhall, became the bride of Thomas D. Jones, son of Mr. and Mrs.

T. C. Jones of Mendenhall, Route 4, on Friday, May 17, at 7:30 p.m. in the home of the parents of the bride. The double ring ceremony was performed by Rev.

Last Meeting Of Year Melba Anderson her Sunday school class and is a member of Young Women's Auxiliary at Goodvvater Baptist Church. Her hobbies include roller skating, singing and playing tennis. Melba won the chance of participating in the state contest by being selected as Magee's FFA Sweetheart for the coming school year.

Bride tives and close friends. The bride is a graduate of Mendenhall High School in the class of 19G3 and is now employed at Stephens Mercantile Company. Mr. Jones attended Magee High School and is now employed at Storkline, in Jackson. They are making their home in Mendenhall.

G. Baldwin of Magee. Miss Leach is a recent graduate of Magee High School and Mr. Baldwin is a graduate of Magee High School and attended the University of Southern Mississippi, for one year. Presently, he is employed with his father.

Miss Leach is the grand daug pointed out that prayer may he silent or vocal, but should embrace praise, thanksgiving, pen-tinence, petition and intercession She concluded by saying "It is God's work for all to pray." D. A. Mcintosh, North Main Street, Mendenhall, as a host of friends and relatives gathered Saturday evening, June 1, between the hours of 7:30 and 9:30 for a brilliant reception honoring Mr. and Mrs. Dan Mcintosh, and his bride, the former Beverly Wilhite of Jackson.

A spot-lighted cupid, adorned with white lillies of the valley and wedding bells gave an alluring welcome at the entrance to the spacious hallway, where Mrs. Herbert Gillis greeted callers and presented them to the receiving line which included: Mrs. D. A. Mcintosh, mother of the groom; Mrs.

Dan Mcintosh, 3rd; Mr. Dan Mcintosh, Mr. Dan Mcintosh, Mr. and Mrs. W.

L. Wilhite of Jackson, parents of the bride and Mrs. A. H. Scott of Lovelock, Nevada, aunt of the groom.

The newly married Mrs. Mcintosh was charming in an after-five original of aqua mist, with which she wore dyed to match shoes. A mammoth arrangement of white daisies and gladioli graced the huge antique mantle in the hall, and nearby a white wrought iron pedestal urn complemented the white and green decor with stock, asters and dainty ferns. In the adjoining living room area a china bridal couple of miniature size, surrounded with white daisies, rested daintily on the coffee table. Mrs.

The banquet size table was handsomely draped in a white embroidered cloth of hand-drawn linen with lace inserts and scalloped hem. The antique punch bowl, silver trays and compotes were flanked by fragile white maline bows and dainty streamers. Silver candelabra holding white tapers, cast a warm glow over the entire setting. Green punch, petit fours finger sandwiches, nuts, and mints were served by the following tea girls: Gene Claire Ward and Dorothy Mcintosh of Collins; Claire Gillis of Mendenhall and Gayle and Jan Singleton of Jackson.

These pretty maidens wore semi-formals of pastel colors. On a nearby service table, a pretty arrangement of white gladioli claimed focal interest. Assisting in serving and replenishing refreshments were Mesdames Paul Gates and W. M. Grubbs.

At an appropriately appointed table on which the bridal theme was the suggestive decoration and where the white guest book was placed, Mrs. Budgie Davis was attendant. Guests had the pleasure of informal visitation in the spacious den at the Mcintosh home, where decorations of orange were predominant. Mrs. Ellis Mclnnis Mrs.

Ellis Mclnnis, Mrs. Greg Breland and Mrs. Curtiss Ward of Collins, with Mrs. Dave Singleton of Jackson, added happy conversation and helped to extend a cordial welcome to the many cullers. Throughout the evening appropriate background music was furnished hy Mrs.
