Mary Ethel McNeill. They were elected by acclamation, and given a rousing vote of thanks. The president thanked the school, the committees and all of those who had a part in making the reunion such a success. The Class of 1926 will have charge of the program is 1976, and Mrs. Mary Ethel McNeill, was named chairman of the Golden Anniversary program.

Miss Patsy Muna led the group is singing "Blest Be The Tie" as they departed. secretary. The class of 1925. presented the program. Ike Bass of Pinola served as chairman of the program committee.

Members of the class gave a report on their activities since 1925. and expressed their delight in celebrating their 50th anniversary. Those reporting were Ike Bass. Pinola; G. M.

Everitt. Ruleville and Mrs. Annie Richardson Forten-berry, McComb. A. G.

Sutton, chairman of the nominating committee presented the following slate of officers for the ensuing year: president, Paul D. Armstrong; vice- i 4l Angela Nichols to wed Daniel Welch The 16th annual reunion of the Simpson County Agricultural High School, the 24th reunion of the class of 1926. was held at the Mendenhall Attendance Center Cafeteria, with a large and enthusiastic crowd attending, and enjoying a day of fellowship, and reminiscence. The morning was devoted to registration and fellowship. Coffee was served by the refreshment committee, Miss Bertha Harris, Mrs.

Grace Powell and Mrs. Vada Grubbs, all of Mendenhall. Guests were greeted by A. G. Sutton, of Mendenhall, Mrs.

Lillian Gill of Jackson and Mrs. Lola Dishoungh of Edwards presided at the register and gave out the name cards. At the noon hour a bountiful picnic lunch was spread on the cafeteria tables. Grace was said by the Rev. James A.

Williamson, pastor of the Mendenhall United Methodist Church. The president, Paul D. Armstrong, of Crystal Springs, presided over the afternoon session. He gave a cordial welcome to all of the alumni, teachers and friends. A silent memorial prayer was said with the Rev.

Troy White and the late Mrs. Esther White of Mount Olive and the late Mr. and Mrs. Hilma Nichols of Magee. Grandparents of the bridegroom are Mrs.

Dollie Welch and the late Mr Enos Welch of Rials Creek community and Hardy Jones and the late Mrs. Myrtle Jones of Magee. Miss Nichols is a graduating senior at Magee High School where she was yoted Miss M.H.S.. 'Homecoming Queen, Head Cheerleader, Miss White to wed tions from former students, expressing their regrets that they could not attend, and sending their greetings to the reunion members were read. Six former teachers were present, Mr.

and Mrs. W. R. Cain, Forest; Jim Gates, Jackson; Robert Bell, Braxton; Robert Everitt, Jackson; High-tower Kendall, Ocean Springs. Visitors and pupils who attended the school, from 1913-1933 were also recognized.

Gifts were presented to the youngest present, Mrs. James Wiginton, Mendenhall; the oldest present, Mrs. Fannie Ross, Mendenhall; the oldest student, Pat Everitt, Hattiesburg; and the oldest teacher, W. R. Cain, Forest.

Traveling the greatest distance was Forest B. Howell. Memphis. As a token of appreciation, the president, Paul D. Armstrong with Mrs.

Armstrong, presented the secretary a beautiful white Bible, with giant print. Mrs. McNeill expressed her appreciation for the lovely, useful and unexpected gift. Jim Gates requested that the group remember the shut-ins who are former pupils, and teachers of the school, by visiting them and sending cards on special occasion. This suggestion was heartily endorsed by the group and members were urged to give the names of any shut-ins to the Interest In the club's selection of Mendenhall's Best Citizen, it was voted that Mrs.

Ada D. Griffith be awarded this distinction. President Tyna Scarborough called the meeting to order, welcomed guests and led in the Club: Collect The installation of new officers was directed by Gene Franklin; they are: Virginia Crabdree, president; Kathleen Fat rick, vice president; Norah Lyndon F. Knight to Magee, and the late Mr. J.

T. Smith of Collins, 'and the great granddaughter of Mrs. A. M. Smith of Collins.

Miss White is a graduate of Magee High School. Mr. Knight is the grandson of Mrs. C. O.

Knight, and the late Mr. Knight of Collins, and the late Mr. and Mrs. W. E.

Hollingsworth of Hattiesburg. He is a graduate of Blair High School in Hattiesburg and attended the University of Southern Miss. He is employed by Amerada Hess Oil Com-pany in Purvis, The refreshment table which was covered with a white cloth was laden with green punchy mixed nuts, mints and a pink cake decorated with miniature babies. A number of friends and relatives attended and brought gifts for the honoree. Births Bethany Leigh Ates Mr.

Mr. Mitchell is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Clifton Otha Burrell of Doddsville, and the late Mr. and Mrs.

Clarence Dewitt Mitchell of Doddsville. He is a graduate of Greenwood High School, has served in the U.S. Air Force and attended Mississippi Delta Junior College and the University of Southern Mississippi He is presently employed with Hensley anihmidtj The couple plan a June garden wedding at the home of the bride's parents. -X" Puckett planned Magee and Mrs. Polly Hosey and the late Earnest Hosey, also of Magee.

Miss Hanna graduated from Mendenhall Attendance Center. She is employed at the Mendenhall Nursing Home. Mr. Puckett is a graduate of Magee High School. The wedding will be solemnized Sunday, une 8 at 5 p.m.

G. W. Walters announce the engagement of their daughter, Margaret Alice, to Aubrey Lamar Mitchell Jr. of Jackson, son of Mr. and Mrs.

Aubrey Lamar Mitchell of Greenwood. Miss Walters is the granddaughter of Mrs. Olyer Lemuel Stephens and the late Mr. Stephens of Magee, and Mrs. Ernest Franklin Thompson of D'Lo and the late Grayson William Walters of Magee.

She graduated from the Magee Attendance Center. She attended Copiah-Lincoln Junior College and Massey Junior College in Atlanta. Kennedy Springs Gospel Sing Kennedy Springs Baptist Church plans a gospel sing at 8:00 p.m. Saturday, May 17 featuring the Midways.

Everyone fa invited to attend to enjoy gospel singing and refreshments. Piano Recital The piano students of Mrs. Thelma Winborne will be featured in recital tonight (Thursday) in the Magee School Activities Building. Elementary students will perform beginning at 6:30 p.m. and junior high and high school students at 8 p.m.

No admission will be charged; the public is invited. Miss Simpson County Pageant The Miss Simpson County Pageant will be held at 8 p.m. Saturday, May 31 at the Sanatorium Auditorium. Admission at the door will be $2 for adults and $1.50 for students. The public is invited.

Goshen Baptist Church Film Goshen Baptist Church of Magee will present the rjm "Burning Hell" at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday. May 28 at the church. Everyone is invited to attend. Lynn Gray plans June 3 wedding The engagement of Miss Marjorie Elisa White to Lyndon F.

W. F. Knight of Hattiesburg. Vows will be exchanged June 29 at 4 p.m. in the New Hope Baptist Church, Mount Olive, with the Rev.
