Kauai man dies after swim outing LIHUE, Kauai A 48-year-old Kauai man died Thursday while swimming off Polihale Beach on the west side of the island. Police said Craig Tolman, of Nawiliwili, was swimming with two friends about 50 feet from shore at Polihale State Park when he began having physical difficulties. Friends brought him to shore, but emergency resuscitation efforts were unsuccessful.

He was pronounced dead at Kauai Veterans Memorial Hospital. An autopsy has been scheduled. Police hunt woman last seen Nov. 19 Police yesterday were looking for an older-model white van that is believed to have dropped off a 31- year-old woman at Neal Blaisdell Park in Pearl City on Nov. 19, three days before she was reported Co-workers reported In Chin McDonald missing after she failed to report to work at the Club Chance Bar in the Pearl Kai Shopping Center.

McDonald was last seen Nov. 19 at Neal Blaisdell Park between 9 to 9:30 p.m. Police believe a cargo van dropped her off in that area. Police said the victim reported she was taken from her home and placed in the back seat of a car by a man who was an acquaintance. The woman said her kidnapper was searching for another man, and while in the vehicle, the man loaded a 12-gauge shotgun and made verbal threats to kill the man they were looking for. The woman told police she tried several times to open the door and jump from the car, but her kidnapper pulled her hair and held her back. 3 Pair under arrest in Waipio incident Police arrested two men, ages 30 and 38, on suspicion of breaking into a home, stealing safes and tying up their victims Thursday night in Waipio.

Police said the incident happened at 94-1131 Nanilihilihi St. at 9:35 p.m. Police said a 29-year-old man and two friends arrived home and were confronted by a gunman. Police said one man was able to elude the gunman and run to a neighbor's house to call police. The gunman then ordered the remaining two men to remove safes and money from the house.

The victims were ordered to carry two safes downstairs and then they were tied up and put into a closet. Police arrested the men as they were leaving the house. Man charged with Halloween kidnap Police yesterday charged George K. Siamani, 28, with kidnapping and robbery in connection with an incident that occurred on Halloween in Kalihi. His bail was set at $50,000.

Authorities found Siamani at the Oahu Community Correctional Center, where he was being held on a unrelated matter. A tipster called police with information on Siamani.
