Edward Phelps, Carllnvllle Democrat, was nnmed state's attorney, defeating Paul H. Balding Staunton Republican, 12,455 to 8927. Philip Brown, Glllesple, (D), was elected circuit clerk over Elery Hardln (R), Nllwood, Incumbent, 11,359 to 9882, John ,1.

Forkcllck, Carlinvllle (D), was named coroner, defeating N. Bates (R), Chesterfield, 12,475 to 8694. The county pave President Truman 11,750 to 30,196 for Dewey. Greene Re-Elects Candidates CARROLLTON, Nov. 3.

All Greene County candidates running for re-election were returned office, according to unofficial returns of the Tuesday election. L. A. Mehrhoff of Carrollton, Democratic candidate for re-election to the office of state's attorney, was re-elected with 4670 votes to 3467 polled by William G. Vogt (R) of Carrollton.

W. Howard (D) incumbent, received 4670 votes for circuit clerk, while Frank M. Allen (R) of Hillvlew received 2804. William H. Wolfe of Roodhouse (R) Incumbent, polled 3948 votes to gain re-election over Ward Burton (D) of CnrroIHon, who received 3560.

At the top of the tickets, President Truman was given 4135 to 3639 for Dewey. Paul H. Douglas (D) candidate for U. S. senator, received 4039 to 3281 for C.

Wayland. Brooks, Incumbent Republican. In the race for governor, Adlal Stevenson (D) was given 4268 while Governor Green polled 3280. The Mount Van Hoevenberg bobsled run at Lake Placid, N. the only one of Its kind In the world.

After satirizing the election, political parlies, politicians and members of the club, he cracked about business and business ethics. The speaker was Introduced by Newell Allen, program chairman, as a member of the Knetzer-Kramer Deposit Fund Corporation. According to Allen, this fact made Wiseman an authority on business and finance. From that Introduction Wiseman delivered his talk, which was studded with impromptu Jokes appropriate to the mood of the moment. McPherson was moved from Kdgcwood Retreat convalescent home to Sunset Sanitarium, El- llsvllln, Mo. Monday.

The rest home Is on highway 150, nine miles from Kirkwood, home of Henry's physician, the only doctor in this area who has not called McPherson's case hopeless. According to Loglonnlres Wcs Lucking and Kd Brave, who helped move MePherson Monday, the youth Is in high spirits and seems much improved. They reported that McPherson, whose joints are slowly becoming fused because of calcium deposits, can, with aid, sit on the edge of his bed and can dial a radio and light cigarettes. Prior to McPherson's removal to the convalescent, home, he could scarcely use his limbs. He is receiving gas treatments.

Brave said an advance payment of $180, which will allow McPherson to receive treatment for a month, was made to the sanitarium Monday. Unofficial returns of tho Tuesday election showed that Foster township turned in iho heaviest Democratic votes in its history and almost did a flip-flop into the Democratic parly after being considered a Republican strong-hold for years. While the count was close, with the Republicans having the edge in all contests except over that for Congress, Representative Milvin Price, seeking re-election to Congress on the Democratic ticket, was accorded a slight lead over Russell H. Classen, Republican. 1'iice polled 1U3 votes; Classen, 21 n. The township gave Dewejf 235 to 204 for Truman.
