Johnson, This executive action is in recognition of the American Bible Society's 150th Anniversary. The Society is the largest nonprofit, organization in the United States responsible for translating, publishing, and distributing the Bible at home and overseas.

State, regional and local Bible societies were instrumental in the founding of the American Bible Society in 1816. It was formed during a period of irreligion to provide Scriptures for churches and the growing population moving westward. Harriman Memorial Award Gold Medal for leading safety performance among the nation's major railroads in 1964, it was announced today by the American Museum of Safety. The award was established in memory of Edward H. Harriman, railroad pioneer. Presentation of the medal will be made by Kenneth H. Tug-gle, member of the Interstate Commerce Commission, at a dinner ceremony to be held at the Statler Hilton Hotel, Washington, D.
