Another sweet saintly woman has passed to the Great Beyond, and the whole community is saddened by is almost a common sorrow, for to know her was to love her. Beautiful, sweet, pure and good, she bore the pain of sickness bravely, as she had borne every trial in life. Her faith Was childlike, her faithfulness was womanly and without variation, her love for her church was part of her life. A good wife, a fond mother and a faithfvl friend, she was true, in all the relations of life one of the best of God's make. Over the grief of the bereaved husband and children we draw the til of sympathy and love.

It must comfort them to know that for her, death had no terror, nor at the last, pain. Her candle went out and she has passed from the light of earths skies into the day of Gods Paradise, and the sweet hope is ours that she is renuited with the dear grandchild she loved so well, the beautiful gifted boy, whose, unsullied life ended in darkest tragedy, and who just eight months ago finished the voyage of his brave bright youth and entered great unknown. gy 7 Mr. Love was a native of Virginia, coming to this county about I860. During the war of secession he enlisted with Capt W.

On the whole the week was quite favorable for farm work, and generally good progress was made in plowing and planting, although in the middle and southern counties tlie ground is becoming dry and hard, rendering plowing somewhat difficult. A good rain is needed to soften the hardened soil and to accelerate seed germination. Corn planting is in full progress in the central and northern portions of the state and is well advanced in the southern portion. The first planting of corn' is generally coming up to good stands. Preparations for cotton planting will 60on be Leader gen Humphreys 8 Shanalian 5 50 2 00 the sessions, on the elegant steamer Belle of the Bends.

Greenville has seen people here in the past but if the day is a bright one, with the chtap excursion mtes they have secured to this point on all the railroads, they ought to fill this city like Ringling's circus. It is true some people would not come for a barbecue dinner, others for a political specking, but when you combine them both, it is bound to draw a crowb. On that day the citizens can give their cooks a holiday for when the aroma of barbecued meats is carried into every home by the fresh morning breeze, there is no dinner outside of a barbecue dinner that will satisfy their hungry appetites. Thi gubernatorial candidates have accepted the invitation of the kind ladies and will be present on the occasion. Besides the candidates for Governor, the Senatorial candidates, Senator H.

D. Money and Gov. A. H. Longino.will be present besides the score of minor candidates that follow the big guns to electioneer while they hold the people.

The fact that on that day the Grand Lodge of I. O. O. F. will meet in the city also insures the balance of the candidates who will come to meet the men who will come here from the four corners of the great state.

In the success of this day the ladies should be encouraged and supported by the business men of the city as it will prove to all who come that TLbiimer, JM Waggoner Ingram 8M Noluu South a true friend, the county ture was rosy with hope and promise.
