Some dogs just refuse to eat much no matter what is offered them, and tasty table scraps certainly do discourage their eating plain dog food. My system is to feed a dog of this type just once a day. Cut-up raw meat mixed with a good kibbled biscuit is best.

If the dog likes strong tasting foods, I use codliver oil, a little bacon grease or some such thing to make it tasty. If this is refused, I remove the food and start over the next day. In most cases hunger will drive a dog to eat the right food. Some dogs are very fond of fish, so you might try some large California sardinf packed in oil. But if your dog seems peppy and is just thin, she probably will get over some of this fussiness as she gets older.
