Lombardi, Santa Rosa bank executive, and treasurer of the drive, reported yesterday.

The quota set by the California division of the national organization was $7,500. Of the total amount raised, $2,297 was from the Santa Rosa area. The Sonoma valley communities were second with a total of $1,041.62 and Petaluma third with $1,029.42. Other communities raised sums as follows: Healdsburg, Sebastopol, S679.51; Cloverdale and northern Sonoma county, and the Russian river area, $480.83. Several rural areas contributed small amounts bringing the total to over the $6,700 mark.

More than 50 per cent of the amount raised came by direct mail, while the balance was raised through coin collectors, dances, parties and entertainments. All funds raised locally have been sent to the California division with 40 per cent of the total going to the American Cancer Society for research and education on a national level. The local budget was approximately $4,000 for the initial year, it was said. This amount is used for the conduct of an information center at 618 Fourth street, educational programs and materials and to supplement the work of the Sonoma County Tumor isoara and its clinic which is held regularly at the Sonoma County Hospital.
