Donald Montgomery, chief economic adviser to President Walter P.

Reuther of the United Auto Workers (CIO), and Boris Shis-kin, top AFL economist, said the dip has had no effect on the cost of living. They doubted that it would have any effect before spring contract negotiations. Both said they saw no reason for unions to modify their demands on the basis of the price drop thus far. A spokesman for the Communications Workers of America said the executive board in session here decided to press for a third postwar wage increase for the 220,000 workers represented by the independent union. He said the board regarded the commodity price drop as "temporary." San Diego has the outstanding xoological park in California.
