In the final 4:55 of the first half, the Gators struck for 24 points. "We hope to play better than we played the last game," Vols coach Phillip Fulmer said. Fulmer may want to remind his players about the first Tennessee-Rutgers game, at Knoxville in 1979. Final score: Rutgers 13, Tennessee 7. Casey Clausen hopes to rebound from his four-fumble effort, and wide receiver Kelley Washington is looking for a big day in his second game since returning from a sprained knee.

He had seven catches for 102 yards against the Gators. Rutgers, meanwhile, is hurting. After a 23-3 loss to Pittsburgh, the Scarlet Knights came away with at least 11 injuries. Among those questionable for Tennessee are quarterback Ted Trump (sprained ankle), running back Markis Fa-cyson (hip pointer) and wide receiver Tres Moses. Washington quarterback Cody Pickett is looking for another 400-yard plus passing day (he had 404 against Wyoming last week).

Idaho's pass defense is ranked 117th and last in I-A, allowing 322.75 yards per game. There's one eye-opener of a point spread this week. Nebraska visits Iowa State, and the game is listed as "pick 'em." In the past 10 years, the Huskers have never been less than 15'2-point favorites over the Cyclones, according to the folks who produce the Glantz-Culver line. points) By Richard Rosenblatt The Associated Press It's Bully Week in college football. Just about every year, there's a Saturday in September that produces some of the most lopsided scores of the season. That day is here. Seven of the top 13 teams in the AP's Top 25 poll are favored by at least 22 points today, with No. 11 Tennessee topping the list as 40'2-point favorites over Rutgers.

Pity Rutgers (1-3). Not only do the Scarlet Knights have to play in Knoxville, but the Vols aren't in a hospitable mood after last week's 30-13 loss to rival Florida. "I think you have a mad football team, one that's very angry right now," Rutgers coach Greg Schiano said. The other matchups, or likely mismatches: No. 13 Washington is a 30Vpoint favorite over Idaho; No.

3 Texas a 30-point pick over Tulane, No. 8 Georgia a 28l2-point choice over New Mexico State; No. 2 Oklahoma and No. 6 Ohio State are choices over South Florida and Indiana, respectively; and No. 5 Virginia Tech is a 22 -e-point pick over Western Michigan.

While there's little doubt about the outcome, the expected losers also win. The router gets an easy win over a I-A opponent, and the visiting routee cashes in on a big payday to help balance the athletic budget. Creighton was a record-setting quarterback for Kenyon in 1990, throwing for a North Coast Athletic Conference 29 touchdowns that season.

That record stood until last season, when his quarterback Jake Knott broke the record with 34 TD passes. "I'm proud to be a part of the history of Kenyon College football," Creighton said. "But from the moment we arrive at the field until the game is over, all I'll be focused on is how to defeat Kenyon." That strategy begins with Knott, who needs 215 yards to break the school's career total offense record. Knott gained 264 total yards in last week's 44-7 victory at Earlham to improve his career total to 9,395.
