Boyes Spring News New Firms To Hold Open House By Staff Correspondent BOYES SPRINGS, June 19 Open house will be held Thursday, for the grand opening of two new business firms, the Powder Box Beauty Shop and a dress shop in Boyes Springs on the Sonoma-Santa Rosa Highway. Mr. and Mrs. Roy Wilkinson are the owners of the property and have erected the new building which houses the two shops. The beauty shop is not a new business, having moved from a nearby location.

J. P. "Toots" Serres, well-known Sonoma Valley resident, was appointed by the Sonoma County Board of Supervisors as Fire Commissioner of the Valley of the Moon Tire District. Mr. Serres will fill the unexpired term of Emil Pellis-sier who recently resigned as Commissioner, and is working at the firehouse in Boyes Springs.

Other commissioners include Mike Moore, Boyes Hot Springs, and Joe Udvic, El Ve-rano. Lanai is the sixth largest island in the Hawaiian group, and is lo cated between Maui and Moiokai It is known as the "Pineapple Is land" because its major industry is raisin pineapples.
