killed when mower tips over A lawnmower tipped over and rolled into a 15 to 20 foot deep ditch killing a Reynolds man po lice said Timothy Segal 52 of Reynolds was pronounced dead Sunday af ternoon at White County Memor ial Hospital in Monticello the White County Sheriff's Depart ment reported Segal was mowing outside Delta Trucking in Reynolds about 20 miles north of Lafayette (See obituary this Care Snellville Ga following a lengthy illness Born April 5 1928 in Metcalf Ill he attended Kingman High School He later lived in Hillsboro for many years He has lived with his daughter in Norcross Ga for the past year Mr Lyons worked for the NYC and STL railroads as a telegra pher and later worked as a truck driver for Mid States Steel Wire in Crawfordsville He was a Kore an War Army veteran He was a former member of the American Legion in Crawfordsville and the Club Surviving are three sons Jay Lyons of Cates James Lyons of Ardmore Ala and Andy Lyons of lorida two daughters Margo Rowe A Lafayette man accused of threatening three people with a shotgun and then holing up in his apartment riday night has been charged with battery intimidation and pointing a firearm Robert Lynn McHood 48 of 1009 5 erry St was booked into the Tippecanoe County Jail at 11:56 pm riday after a police special response team entered his apart ment Police were called to the white apartment building on the south side of erry Street at 8:59 pm ri it day A woman and a 10 year old girl They tried to make contact with there told police McHood had McHood but he would not answer threatened them and the fa his telephone Eventually ther Billy Ray Burkhart with a girlfriend gave police permission to shotgun enter the apartment The police spe Police located Burkhart in Apart cial response team did so and ar ment 4 and recovered a shotgun rested McHood without further in that he said he had taken from Mc Hood after a scuffle Police said Mc Hood was the liverin boyfriend of sister They lived to gether in 2003 in the St Vincent Williamsport Hospital emergency room Bom Nov 7 1905 in Stonebluff she was a lifelong resident of the Stonebluff community and had lived in the Waters of Covington for the past two years She at tended Stonebluff and Veedersburg Mrs Kelley worked as a cook for the Radio Materials Corp in Atti ca from 1953 until her retirement in 1966 She was a member of Stonebluff United Methodist Church and was active in the ladies aide of the church She was a member of Cov ington Senior Citizens and loved to crochet On Sept 4 1928 she married Charles Leland Kelley He died Mav 30 daughter he told police McHood was on his porch pointing a shot gun at them Burkhart approached McHood while his girlfriend and daughter ran down a nearby alley Burkhart told police he tried to talk McHood into putting down the weapon and eventually was struck in the face with the butt of the gun before he wrestled it away from McHood The shotgun never discharged Burkhart returned to his own
