The Mensacola Journal Friday, May 12, 1972 Deaths FISHER-POU FUNERAL SERVICE MRS. LOUISE H. BEARD Mrs. Louise H. Beard, 48, of 8002 Pittman died Tuesday morning in a local hospital.

She was a native of Allison, but had resided in Pensacola most of her life, and was a member Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She was a former employe of Southern Bell Telephone Co. and the University of West Florida, Survivors include two daughters, Miss Vicki Beard and MIss Leah Beard, both of Pensacola; two sons, Jim Bryant and Ralph Beard, both of Pensacola; her stepfather, Walter H. Hibberd of Macon, and one grandson. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m.

Friday in the Fisher-Pou Chapel with the Rev. Charles E. Chambers officiating. Pallbearers will be W. C.

Blocker, Norman Blocker, S. L. Blocker, J. C. Blocker, Joe Butler and H.

E. Hibert. Burial will be in the Crane Cemetery in Santa Rosa County with FisherPou Funeral Service directnig. S. SGT.

THOMAS J. CROWSON Staff Sgt. Thomas J. Crowson, 30, died Sunday Charleston, S.C. He was a native of Louisville, but had lived here the past eight years.

He was stationed at U.S. Air Force Base in Charleston. He was a member of Whitfield Memorial Baptist Church. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Linda Rogers Crowson of Pensacola; a son, Thomas J.

Crowson Jr. of Pensacola; a daughter, Penelope Ilene Crowson of Pensacola; his parents, Sgt. and Mrs. Crandler B. Crowson of Tingley, Iowa; two brothers, 1st Lt.

Crandler B. Crowson Jr. of California and Carey V. Crowson of Tingley; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Evelyn Trullinger and Mrs.

Margaret Ann Bickers, both of Tingley; and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Kary C. Rogers of Pensacola. Funeral services will be 11 a.m.

Friday in Fisher-Pou Chapel with the Rev. Clyde Risen of Whitfield Memorial Baptist Church officiating. Pallbearers will be military personnel. Burial will be in Pensacoa Memoria Gardens with military honors at the grave. Fisher -Pou Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.

JOE MORRIS FUNERAL HOME MRS. ROXIE BROWN Funeral service for Mrs. Roxie Brown, of 1003 W. Hatton will be 3:30 p.m. Friday in Antioch Baptist Church with the Rev.

Nathaniel Smith officiating. Mrs. Brown died Saturday in a local hospital. Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Annie B.

Pate of Baltimore, Mrs. Roxie Watson of Springfield, Ohio, Mrs. Eva Brown of New York City and Mrs. Mary Lou Hendersen of Pensacola; a son, Pollard Brown Jr. of Ft.

Pierce; two sisters, Mrs. Maggie Harris Pensacola and Miss Lula Pettway of New York City: a brother, William Pettway of Pensacola, an uncle, Preston Fair, nine grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and three great great-grandchildren. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery with Joe Morris Funeral Home directina. MRS. ROSIE LEE OLIVER Mrs.

Rosie Lee Oiver, of 727 W. Brevard Tallahassee, died Tuesday in a local hospital. She was a native of Pensacola, but had resided in Tallahassee 46 years. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Gertrude Sims; a son-in-law, Obedia Sims; 8 brother, Deacon Charlie M.

Baldon of Atmore, two sisters, Mrs. Lizzie B. Wilmer and Mrs. Lucy Shoemaker, both of Pensacola; three grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be 3 p.m.

Sunday in Watson Temple Church of God and Christ with the Elder E. L. Sheppard officiating. Burial will be in Tallahassee. COLLINS FUNERAL HOME MRS.

NELLIE CLYDE YOUNG Mrs. Nellie Clyde Young, 75, of 1380 Tunis died Sunday in a Martinsville, hospital. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Tyndal Jamison of Pensacola and Mrs. Mellie Bryant of Fieldale, four grandchildren and two great-grandsons.

Funeral services will be announced by Collins Funeral Home, Collinsville, Va. BENBOE FUNERAL HOME MISS BELLA LULA HICKS Miss Bella Lula Hicks, 84, of 1405 N. 6th died 'Tuesday morning in a local hospital. She was a native of Old Warrington, a member of the Greater Union Baptist Church, the Christian Benevolent Society and Escambia County Retired Teachers Association. She was a teacher in Escambia County for 45 years, retiring in 1958.

Survivors include a sister, Mrs. Bessie Hicks; five nieces and six nephews. Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Saturday in the Greater Union Baptist Church with the Rev. A.

J. King officiating. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery with Benboe Funeral Home directing. MRS. LUZON C.

HUNTER WILLIAM H. MCCLAIN SR. William H. McClain of 1709 N. 6th died in a local hospital.

He was a native of Dothan, but had resided here many vears. He was a member of Bethel A.M.E. Church, Deep Water City Lodge No. 751, IBPOE of (Elks) Benevolent Orders of Omega No. 1.

Hanniton Watts Post 193, American Legion, and was a civil service employe at Pensacola Naval Air Station. Survivors Include a son, William H. McClain a daughter, Mrs. Annie L. Eckles of Saginaw, his mother, Mrs.

Zora L. Ellerby; a brother, Dallie McClain of Dothan, a daughter-inlaw, Mrs. Marguerite McClain and five grandchildren. Benevolent Order of Omega No. 1 will hold services at 7:30 p.m.

Thursday in Benboe Funeral Chapel. Lodge of Sorrow, Deep Water City Lodge of Elks services will be 8 p.m. Thursday. American Legion services will be 8:30 p.m. Thursday.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Friday In Bethel A.M.E. Church with the Rev. W. E.

A. YOUNG SOUTH FLOMATON P. A. Young, 67 of State Line Road, died Wednesday mornina in a local hospital. He was a native of Kent County, but had resided in South Flomaton the past 28 years.

He was a retired engineer with Railroad and a member of the Flomaton United Methodist Church and Century Masonic Lodge No. 213. He was a South Flomaton city councilman and chairman of the legislative board of the Brotherhood of Locomotive: Engineers. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Vivian Young of South Flomaton; a son, Jack Young of Birmingham, his mother, Mrs.

Hattie Wilson of Houghton Lake, a half-brother, George Briggs of Farwell, and three grandchildren. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday in Flomaton Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Tom Sheppard and Father Francis Cusac officiating. Burial will be in Flomaton Cemetery with Flomaton Funeral Home directIna.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers contributions be made to the Cancer Society. MRS. CLARA GILMORE PARKER BRATT Mrs. Clara Gilmore Parker, 68, of Bratt, died Wednesday in a Pensacola hospital. Mrs.

Parker was a native of Baldwin County, but had resided in Escambia County most of her life. She was a member Bratt Assembly of God Church. Survivors include two sons, Lewis Gilmore of Century and Earnest Gilmore of Bratt; four daughters, Mrs. Catherine Garrett of Davisville, Mrs. Dorothy Steadham, Mrs.

Clara Bell Steadham of McDavid, and Mrs. Perlie Mae Miller of Pensacola; two brothers, Riley Hobbs of Pritchard, and Jack Hobbs of Montgomery, three sisters, Mrs. Annie Forbes, Mrs. Ethel Summerall and Mrs. Nellie Willis, all of Mobile, 22 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday in Bratt Assembly of God Church with Revs. Joe Wallace officiating. Burial will be in Byrneville Cemetery with Flomaton Funeral Home directing. The body will be moved to the church one hour before services.

HELMS FUNERAL HOME FAIT L. TAYLOR Fait L. Taylor, of North Brook, died Tuesday in a North Brook hospital. He was a native of Holmes County, but had resided in Virginia for a number of years. Survivors include a son, Howard Taylor of Pensacola and two sisters, Mrs.

Agnes Roberts of Tampa and Mrs. Lula Pace of Milton. Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Saturday in Helms Funeral Home with the Rev. Mack Johnson officiating.

Burial will be in Strickland Cemetery with Helms Funeral Home directina. FISHER-POU FUNERAL SERVICE ARTHUR L. WALKER Arthur L. Walker, 88, of 2007 E. Gadsden Street died Wednesday night in a local hospital.

Mr. Walker was a native of Akron, Ohio and had resided in Pensacola the past five years. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Beula B.

Walker of Pensacola; one son, R.L. Walker of Pensacola, and two grandchildren, Annette Walker and James Walker, both of Pensacola. Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Friday in the Fisher-Pou Chapel with the Rev. Paul Mathison officiating.

The body will be placed in the FisherPou Chapel at 6 p.m. Thursday. Burial will be in the Bayview Memorial Park with Fisher-Pou Funeral Service directing. Mrs. Josephine Roberts Herwig Mrs.

Josephine Roberts Herwig, 90, of 901 Bayou died Wednesday night at her home. Mrs. Herwia was a native of Josephine, and had been a resident of Pensacola most of her life. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Order of the Eastern Star, Florida Chapter No. 9 and was a member of the Pensacola Womans Club.

Survivors include her widower, Willie C. Herwig of Pensacola and other relatives. Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Friday in Fisher-Pou Chapel with the Rev. Hugh B.

Carter Jr. officiating. Pallbearers will be Dr. W. H.

Coker Jr. Dr. John B. Coker, Hamon Mathis, Harry Merritt, W. B.

Holland and Don Morris. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery with Fisher-Pou Funeral Service directina. WOLFE-LEWIS FUNERAL HOME JOHN CLYDE CUMBIE MILTON John Clyde Cumbie, 66, of Ward Basin Rd, died Thursday in a local hospital. Mr.

Cumbie was a native of Westville but had resided most of his life in Milton. He was a retired mechanic. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Vernia Cumbie of Milton; a daughter, Mrs. Lucille Hawkins of Milton; two brothers, Aubrey Cumbie of Pensacola and Seth P.

Cumbie Sr. of Tampa; three sisters, Mrs. Effie Lee Johnson, Mrs. Hilda Powell, both of Pensacola, and Mrs. Jessie Mae Parker of Summerville, S.C.; three grandchildren, and two great-granchidren.

Funeral services will be announced by. Wolfe-Lewis Funeral Home in Milton. OTHER DEATHS MARVI S. NEUMANN CORAL GABLES Marvi S. Neumann, 80, of 2919 Alhambra Circle, died Thursday in a local hospital.

She was a resident of Coral Gables for 45 years, a former resident of Spokane, and a frequent visitor to Pensacola. She was the widow of Maxfield M. Neumann, a well-known general contractor and civic leader and former Washington state legislator. She was founder and former president of Miami Beach Businesswomen's League, She was the first executive secretary of the Miami Beach Board of Realtors and served in that capacity for 29 years. She retired In 1959.

She was a member of the Holy Comforter Episcopal Church. She was a founding member of the Royal Poinciana Chapter of the A. A. R. P.

She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and American League of Penwomen, former member of the Quoto Club and the University of Miami Cancer Association. She was the first and only member of the Advertising Club of Spokane. She was a member of the Globetrotters. Survivors include a son. Robert S.

Neumann of Coral Gables; a daughter, Mrs. William R. Bean of Pensacola; a brother, William Scott of Fort Benton, two sisters, Mrs. Faye Brooks of Orofino, Idaho, and Mrs. Bonnie Syber of Escondido, six grandchildren, and one great-grandson.
