There will also be a reduction in reimbursement for the Special Milk Program, a spokesman said.

This means a loss of more than $3,000. Triad cafeterias have been operated on a break-even basis. To continue to break even, lunch prices went up to 35 cents for elementary students and 40 cents at Triad High School. If the Federal Lunch'Program is a dequately funded by Congress, it will be possible to return to the old prices next school year. Some government officials have recommended the withdrawal of all support in no- poverty areas.

If this should happen before next September, it would be necessary to raise lunch prices again, the -pokes- man said. Therapeutic and rehabilitative resources in the community should be used. "More and more of us are looking to the general praction- er to help with die treatment of mental illness," Dr. Felix said. "There is no reason why the great overwhelming majority of people can't be treated by the family doctor and the local hospital. We should make seeking treatment as simple as getting treated for an upset stomach." The general practitioner should be brought together with the psychiatrist in the same facility, he said.

This will en able the GP to follow his patient through treatment, con cutting the psychiatrist where difficult problems occur. A full-fledged community mental health center should provide these essential services, according to Dr. Felix: diagnosis and treatment, including case finding by schools and welfare agencies; folrawup and rehabilitative services, consultant services; public information and education about mental fflness; Community research programs, and efforts to prevent illness, including reduction of factors in the community which create mental problems in people who live there. Around the clock service should also be provided so that a patient can get help at any time, or a psychologist can be available to make emergency house calls. A suicide prevention service could be a part of this, Dr.

Felix said. The Madison County Mental Health. Center is supported by the United Fund, state grants and patient fees. It is. a nonprofit corporation administered by a board of directors composed of county citizens.

Edwardsville board members are H. U. Landon, treasurer of the corporation; Mrs. Vera Luttrell, Dr. Robert Malench and Leonard Schwartz.
