Tbe mills have at present a very large amount of export flour on hand on account of tbe high ocean rates. Thursday, Assumption Day, was celebrated with appropriate ceremonies at tbe Catholic church. Weber, of Marine, left for Idaho to-day to look after their mining Interests there, S. Mahler, ot tbe Milk Factory, left for Denver, and the West, Wednesday, and will cover a total of about 20,000 miles before returning. Large consignments of wheat are dally received from St. Louis aud stations east by tbe mills to enable them to fill tbelr European contracts. Tbe farmers have once more been encouraged In wheat raising by this year's heavy crop nnd a large acreage is being prepared for wheat this season.

Tbe boys yesterday were again busy practicing for the Tournament at Ed- wardevllle, Aug. 29. About 50 at least From here expect to take part in the festivities. The Diamond Mineral Springs, of Saline, are getting to be quite a resort for citizens of our city. Large numbers visit the health and pleasure resorts every Sunday.

Robert Sledler, 32 years of age, died Thursday morning, after a long and lingering jllness, and was laid to rest Friday afternoon.
