1929. JOHN MELLON, Clerk. FRANCIS J. MANNING, Solicitor for Complainant. (Feb 16-23 Mar 2-9) 2149 WEEKLY SUMMARY AT JfATIOWAi STOCK TARDS National Stock Yards, Mar.

9-Weekly livestock jeview for week ending March 7, 1929, issued by Market News Service, U. S. Department of Agriculture. Cattle: Despite a steady to lower market on steers this week, the average price level figured higher than last week because of better qualified descriptinos offered during the current session. Compared with one week ago, lightweight steers sold about steady; other steers 15 to 25c lower, spots off more; mixed yearlings and heifers strong to 25c higher, light kinds showing the advance; best cows and low cutters weak, with spots 25c lower; other cows and cutters steady; bulls 25 to 50c lower; good and choice vealers $1 lower; stocker and feeder steers strong to 25c higher.

Tops for week: 1322-lb matured steers 113.50; 835-lb yearlings 112.75; 629-lb mixed yearlings 619-lb heifers $12.65. Heavy steers, or those averaging 1322 to 13S6 Ibs brought $12.25, $13.10 and 413.50, while medium weights scal- i. 1202 to 1297 Ihs ranged from $12 to $13.25, with bulk $12.25 to $13 and 1115 to 1178 pounders 11.75 to bulk $11.85 to $12.90. Light weight steers ranged from $9.25 to $13.10, the majority $10.25 to $12.50, with $10.35 to $13 claiming bulk of all steers. Fat mixed yearlings and heifers registered $11.7 to medium fleshed descriptions largely $10.25 to $11.

Top cows reached $10, the majority ot matrons $7.75 to most low cutters $5.75 to $6.25. Early in the week top sausage bulls made $9.50, with $9 the best at the close today. Good and choice vealers cashed at $16.75 today, while last Thursday $17.75 prevailed. Hogs: Hog receipts at this point, while about the same week as last week, are mnning materially Ic than at this time last year. This is undoubtedly partly due to the unfavorable condition of country roads but It is the opinion of many that the heavy marketings last fall and early winter has left country supplies curtailed.

Total receipts around the western market circuit fell off considerably from last week's runs and local prices have scored almost continuous upturns, assisted by higher trends to the eastern dressed trade. Prices in general are 50 to 65c high- than a week ago and the highest since last September. Pigs failed to follow the advance more than 25c. Today's trade opened steady to $10 higher with top price at $12. Bulk of early sales of 160 to 280 Ib weights were made at $11.75 to $11.96.

Later trade was 10 to 15c below early, spots 2Gc off. At the finish most hogs realized $11.60 to $11.85. aLte top being $11.90 and sellers unable to obtain this at the extreme close. Bulk of 130 to 1504b light lights cashed at $10 to $11.25 with 100 to 130 ib slaghter pigs at $8.75 to $10.25, Lighter pigs realized $7.25 to $8.75. Bulk of packing sows earned $10.50 to $10.60, late trade being dull and weak.

Sheep: Sheep house trade was of very narrow proportions all week and most of the reported supplies were on through nod direct billing. While Markets WHOLESALE. UrainT Wheat 1. Yellow corn 82 Oats new Hay Timothy $18.00 nutter and Eggs. Eggs fresh 27 Butter, rountry .60 1.U5 RETAIL.
