Crawford knew of Mr. Turning, she was much closer to Thomas Harold "Tommy" Flowers, an electrical engineer who designed the computer, which he named Colossus, that was used to break the German code. After the war, Mrs. Crawford emigrated to Baltimore and in 1947 married Henry L. Crawford, a precision machinist, and settled in West Friendship.

Her mother and father later moved from England, which was still suffering from the wartime bombing of London and rationing, to Baltimore to be near their only child. She became a naturalized U.S. citizen in 1953, and in the early 1950s, became a communicant of St. John's Episcopal Church in Ellicott City, where she also served as an administrative assistant to the Rev. Albert Rich.

He studied medicine at the University of Maryland and specialized in pediatrics. He married Rosemarie Hauser in 1954. He was drafted, serving the Air Force as a doctor in England. After his return to Maryland, he first partnered with Dr. Ed Besson.

He partnered with Dr. willard Standiford and later Drs. Ernie Mahr and Robert Irwin to create The Pediatric Center. He was affiliated with Mercy Hospital, South Baltimore General and St. Agnes Hospital.

St. Agnes Hospital inducted him into the Healing Hands Society in 2010. And, in 2011, they recognized his 50 years of service to the hospital. He lived in Ellicott City for 48 years. He was an active member of his community serving on both PTA and parish councils.

He enjoyed practicing medicine, playing golf, watching basketball and the Orioles. Most of all he loved being the husband of Rosemarie. Rasmussen Kohlhepp, a homemaker, the former Corinne Kohlhepp was born in Baltimore and raised in Homeland. She was a 1940 graduate of Girls' Latin School and earned a bachelor's degree in 1944 from Edgewood Park College in Briarcliff Manor, NY. In 1944, she married Raymond Gordon Long who was better known as Gordon "Shorty" Long, and settled in Roland Park.

In 1962, Mrs. Long and her longtime friend, Kate C. Chitttenden, who died earlier this month, established a catering firm they named RSVP, and in addition to catering parties, weddings and debutante parties, they made and bottled chutneys and jellies that they sold in a store in the Roland Park Shopping Center.
