LIPPETT, Cleotha (Walker) P9 Katter, Nafe Edmund Born Saginaw, Michigan, October 25, 1926, predeceased by father, Nafe Katter and mother, Meta Blohm Katter. Nafe passed away Wednesday, August 20, 2014. Nafe attended University of Michigan for his BA, MA and PhD.

He moved to Connecticut and for forty years he was a professor of dramatic arts at the University of Connecticut. He also was a professional actor and director and played many roles around New England and New Jersey. He moved to Summerfield, FL in 2008. He is survived by his sister, Elnora Katter Hamady, Niece, Jennifer Hamady Darling (Edward Mattheis). Nephews, Joseph Nafe Hamady and William Kyle Hamady.

Predeceased half brother, James Katter, nephew, Roger Katter and surviving niece, Veda Nasser. Predeceased half sister, Shahini Rashid, nephew, Shoukat Rashid, surviving niece, Lamia Hamadeh and nephews, Dr. Belal Rashid, Akram Rashid and Kamal Rashid. And, many Grand Nieces and Nephews. In addition to his talent, he had compassion and love.

Mrs. Cleotha (Walker) Lippett 103 was born in Colquitt, GA on December 29, 1910.

She departed her earthly tabernacle on Tuesday August 26, 2014 at her residence in Windsor, CT surrounded by her family and pastor. She was the daughter of the late Captain Walker and Janie Mackey Burr. She was the wife of the late Chester Lippett and they were married for 60 years. The mother of Louis Chester Lippett (deceased) and Ruby Irick deceased) of NY, Mattie C. Stevens, Josie B.

Henderson, Lester Lippett of CT. Cleotha affectionately known as "Mama Cleo" was the family matriarch of six generations. She is survived by her sister Audrey Lippett of NY; 19 grandchildren Sherlie (Byron) Bobb, Gloria Henderson, Barbara Norman, Linda (Plummer) Carroll, Brenda Henderson, Alphonso Lippett, Yvonne (Brian) Ozenne, Robert T. Henderson, Doreen Steven, Peggy Woods, Steven Henderson of CT; Carl (Sandy) Irick of PA; Deatrice (Steve) Lippett-Johnson of NY; Debbie (Greg) Meyers of NC and Michael and Charles Lippett of AL. She is also survived by 31 great-grandchildren, 27 great-great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-great-grandchildren.

She leaves a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by grandchildren Rosalyn Irick, Alonzo Henderson, and Regina Waller; greatgrandchild Robert Brian Ozenne; eight siblings; sons-in-law; Robert Henderson and Roy Irick; Carrington-Lippett. Cleotha was a member of MT. Calvary Baptist Church for 57 years where she served as a Deaconess, Missionary, and Secretary of the Flower Guile. She was also an active participant of the Hartford South Senior Center where her quilts were often displayed.

Mama Cleo was an avid "word-find" and cross-word puzzle enthusiast. She was an excellent cook, seamstress, designer and quilt maker. She faithfully watched her religious TV programs. Cleotha took her civic responsibilities very seriously, Cleotha NEVER missed her right to vote. She served those members of the community who were home bound by shopping for them, cooking for them, and caring for their personal needs.

She was a great counselor to many, imparting wisdom and knowledge. A special thanks to Dr. Mark Belsky and the Blue Hills Family Medicine. A celebration of her life will take place Wednesday, September 3, 2014 at 12pm at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, 2 F.D.

Lachapelle, 21, of Plainville, passed away with his loving family by his side, on Thursday, August 28, 2014 at Yale New Haven Hospital. Born in New Haven on May 21, 1993, he was one of three sons to Andrew and Nancy (Morris) Lachapelle.

Stephen was a 2011 graduate of Plainville High School, and was currently in his senior year at Central Connecticut State University, from where he planned to pursue a career in elementary education. A sports enthusiast, he enjoyed playing golf, tennis and basketball, and cheering on his favorite teams, the New York Giants, New York Rangers, New York Knicks, and Tampa Bay Rays. He spent much of his time outdoors, going running or hiking and appreciating the nature surrounding him. He will be greatly missed and remembered most by his family and many friends for his infectious love for life and passion for making others laugh with his tremendous sense of humor. In addition to his parents, he leaves his brothers, Michael of Denver, CO and Gregory of Washington, DC; his grandparents, Andrew and Theresa Lachapelle of Southington and Robert and Catherine Morris of Homosassa, FL; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

A memorial service in celebration of Stephen's life will be held on Wednesday at 7 p.m. at Bailey Funeral Home, 48 Broad St, Plainville. Family and friends may gather prior to the service, from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home. Kendall, retired partner of the Schnader, Harrison, Segal and Lewis law firm of Philadelphia, and long-time resident of Gladwyne, PA died peacefully Wednesday, August 20th, of Parkinson's disease at Dunwoody Village in Newtown Square, PA. He was 83. Daughter Janet L. Kendall and son-in-law J.

Jeffrey Lankin reside in West Hartford, CT, along with grandchildren Robert, Julia and Sophia Lankin. Family outside of CT include daughters Linda Kendall Rissell, Cynthia J. Kendall and son-in-law John W. Lindquist. There are 4 additional grandchildren (Veronica Passarella, Christina Rissell, Adah and Elena Lindquist) plus one great grandchild (Zoe Ramsey).

Mr. Kendall was also the brother of Richard E. Kendall (Cynthia Kendall) of East Falmouth, MA. Born in Rochester, NH on October 13, 1930, Robert Kendall grew up in Falmouth, MA. He was president of his high school class and was elected to the Henry H.

Smythe Role of Honor by his classmates for exemplifying "loyalty, honor, and service to others." He met his future wife when they were put together on a debating team in high school. "Bob" earned the rank of Eagle Scout. He later graduated from Harvard University, Cum Laude, in 1952, majoring in government. At Harvard (on a full scholarship) he played football and sang in the Harvard Glee Club. Through his school and college years, he was an avid baseball player and was founding manager and center fielder, of the Falmouth Falcons team, which competed in the Cape Cod Baseball League.

He was a huge Red Sox fan his entire life. (As a result of having family in West Hartford, he also followed the UCONN Huskies women's basketball team.) Mr. Kendall attended the University of Pennsylvania Law School (also on scholarship) where he was the managing editor of the Law Review and a member of the Order of the Coif (an honor society). He graduated with a J.D. in 1955, fifth in his class.

He was the recipient of a Rotary Foundation Fellowship to study at Oxford. On August 13, 1955, he married Patricia Palmer and moved to England for his Fellowship year, where he earned a Diploma in Law from University College Oxford in 1956. Mr. Kendall was a lawyer at Schnader, Harrison, Segal and Lewis for 40 years, specializing in antitrust, government regulations, and product liability law. He handled complex cases, many with great national importance.

One of his many major professional achievements was to challenge United States Post Office rates and classifications. The case resulted in the prevention of the United States Postal Service from making unlawful changes in rates and service. Among his many corporate clients was one of the largest shipment and logistics companies in the world (United Parcel Service). The company presented Mr. Kendall with an award for "40 years of excellent representation" upon his retirement.

Mr. Kendall remained active in service to others throughout his life. Organizations and committees he was involved with include the Vestry of St. Christopher's Church in Gladwyne, PA, the Episcopal Church Club of Philadelphia, the Philadelphia Rotary Club, and The Welsh Society of Phildelphia. Mr.

Kendall served on the Board of Directors of the Mann Music Center from 1971 to 1998 and was on the Board of the Philadelphia Settlement Music School for over 30 years. He was also instrumental in assisting with the ordination of women to the priesthood in the Episcopal Church, representing Suzanne Hiatt, one of the original women priests in the church. Mr. Kendall was a wonderful son, brother, husband, father and "granddad." His memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 6th at 3 P.M. at St.

Christopher's Episcopal Church, 226 Righter's Mill Gladwyne, PA 19035. Keith Francis Loughlin, 34, passed away unexpectedly at his home in San Diego CA. He leaves behind his father Brian K. Loughlin (Polly), mother Alice S.

Petronio (Lucian), brother Patrick J. Loughlin (Rachel) and grandfather Francis C. Loughlin. Keith also leaves behind his many cousins, aunts and uncles. He was predeceased by his paternal grandmother Carolyn (Welsh) Loughlin and his maternal grandparents, Alex and Sue (Howe) Sonski.

Keith was born in Hartford and was a graduate of Conard High School class of '98. Keith proudly served in the United States Marine Corps for 5 years achieving the rank of Staff Sergeant and had been residing in the San Diego, CA area for many years. He was presently a student at ITT Tech, National City, CA. Keith enjoyed motorcross racing, snowboarding, keeping buff, outdoor sports and life in general. He will be dearly missed and live in our hearts forever.

Funeral procession will be Saturday, Sept. 13, at 10:30 am from the Sheehan Hilborn Breen Funeral Home, 1084 New Britain West Hartford, followed by a graveside service, 11:00 am at Mt. St. Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield (section P). Calling hours will be prior to the graveside service from 8:30 10:30 am at the funeral home.

KNICKERBOCKER, Susan W. KURAS, William William Kuras, was born on November 2, 1944, Born in Hartford, son of the late William B. Kuras and Julia (Sklodowski) Kuras VonRadear.

He was an avid fisherman, hunter, and gardener who faithfully served his town, for 37 years, on the Suffield Police Department. He wore many hats, as a Patrolman, Detective, Sergeant, ActingInterim Chief, and retired as a Lieutenant. He leaves behind his lovely wife of 39 years, Diane J. Phillips Kuras; his two daughters, Alexandra and Kimberly Kuras; a sister, Judi Ann Kuras; half brother, Anthony VonRadear; sister-in-law, Barbara Faraday; brother-in-laws David Faraday and John A. Phillips and beloved dog Coco Kuras.

We are forever grateful for the unrelenting, loving, compassionate care of Dr. Walter Kope, Dr. Arthur Landry Dr. Aneesh Tolat, Dr. Michael Moustakakis, Dr.

Richard Stone, Dr. Daniel Gerardi, Dr. Richard Soucier, Christine Olmstead, and his team at St. Francis Hospital, that helped him stick around. The Funeral Services will be on Wednesday, September 3 at 8AM from the Heritage Funeral Home 1240 Mountain Road, West Suffield, CT with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9AM at Sacred Heart Church, 1065 Springfield Street, Feeding Hills, MA 01030.

LEWIS-VARLEY, Christine Ann Fn Christine Lewis-Varley, born in North Hampton, England and a resident of Baton Rouge, LA, passed away on Thursday, August 28, 2014 at the age of 68. Throughout her professional career, she has coached and mentored dozens of women.

Her passion was the work she did with women in domestic violence shelters through her Power of Me programs. Christine is survived by her children and their spouses, Danielle and DJ Conway, Karedith Wray, and Michael and Mischa Breard; grandchildren, Madison, Carter, Kennedy, Grant, Isabelle, Peyton, Makenzie, and Hudson; brothers, Peter Varley, and Roger Varley and wife Elaine; five nephews; one niece; and her "American" and "English" sisters and their families. She is preceded in death by her parents, George and Jean Varley. Susan W. Knickerbocker, 53, formerly taf Rocky Hill, passed away May 12, 2014 in Phoenix, AZ, where she recently resided.

Born Sept. 7, 1960 in Springfield, MA, she was a daughter of the late Harold "Skip" and Lois (Winters) Knickerbocker, Jr. Sue retired from the U.S. Air Force after having served from 1970 through 2002. She leaves her partner, Kathleen Riter of Phoenix, AZ; sisters (and brothers-in-law), Holly (Roy) Hartley and Tracy (Dean) Dube, all of Colchester; brother, Kenneth Knickerbocker of Middletown; and numerous extended family and friends.

Visitation will be held Saturday (Sept. 6th) from 11 AM 12:30 PM at the Aurora-McCarthy Funeral Home, 167 Old Hartford Colchester. A Chapel Service will follow at 12:30 PM with full military honors. 4 HELMS, Joan (Seymour) Joan S. Helms, 82, of Southington, formerly of West Hartford, beloved wife of the late Herbert Helms, passed away Sunday August 24, 2014 surrounded by her family at the Hospital Of Central CT, New Britain. Born July 2,1932, daughter of the late Melvin and Winifred(Uhl) Seymour. Prior to her retirement she was an administrative assistant for the American School For The Deaf. After retiring she had been active in volunteering for Bread For Life and enjoyed her swimming classes, bowling and bocce leagues.

She had recently joined the Red Hat Society. She was an active member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Southington. Joan is survived by her daughters Julie Poulin and her husband Daniel and Karen DiDomenico and her husband Jeffrey, all of Southington; five grandchildren Danielle Griswold and her husband Kevin, Shawn Poulin, Lisa Kohanski and her husband Brian, Cory DiDomenico and Steven DiDomenico; and great grandchildren Kassidy and Connor Griswold; a sister Gale Jensen and her husband Carl, nieces Dana Jensen and Danielle Henson. She was predeceased by a niece Debby Jensen.

Box 11454, Alexandria, VA 22312 1 iT POSEY, Carnot Dennis C. Dennis Posey died on August 21, 2014 of pancreatic cancer at Connecticut Hospice in Branford. His devoted wife of thirty-six years, Charlotte (Ames) Posey was by his side.

Dennis was born in Ann Arbor, Ml on March 1, 1937 to Alice (Montgomery) and Robert K. Posey. His father, an architect, was a Captain in Patton's Third Army, serving as a "Monuments Man" in the elite Monuments, Fine Arts and Archives force. Dennis earned his aeronautical engineering degree from Massachusetts Institute of Technology and computer science graduate degree from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. He had a successful career at Pratt Whitney Aircraft.

Dennis's first love was sailing, which he began teaching at age 14. He won numerous national and North American one-design championships and placed 3rd in the Tornado Catamaran Worlds with a broken main halyard. For over forty years, he raced in Essex Frostbiting. He won much regional silver on Firebrand, the offshore racer he designed. Dennis created the first sailing and racing simulators for personal computers, which gave thousands of sailors the chance to practice their sailing technique and tactics off the water.

He was elected to the Intercollegiate Sailing Hall of Fame in 1971. Together, Dennis and Charlotte sailed Firebrand many thousand miles, to landfalls from Newfoundland to the Bahamas and beyond. Dennis lived his life bravely and to the fullest until overwhelmed by cancer. In addition to Charlotte, he is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Robert M. and Maria (Carretti) Posey and his mother-in-law, Maybelle (Purdy) "Betty" Ames.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 6, 2014 at Valley Bible Evangelical Free Church, Haddam, CT.
