She was 95 and lived at the Blakehurst Retirement Community. Born Grace Harrison in Seattle, she was the daughter of Clifford Harrison, a sports editor for The Seattle Times, and his wife, Harriet Hulett. After graduating from a local high school, she earned a bachelor's degree at the University of Washington. Family members said she was a pioneer in the travel industry in her hometown. She was hired as a passenger agent for United Airlines at Boeing Airport during World War II.

At the time, such jobs were traditionally held by men. Plans for a memorial gathering in Baltimore this summer are incomplete.

Ms. Pokrass is survived by her son, Michael Bardoff of Lewisburg; a brother, Alan Jacobs of Mesa, and many cousins. Frederick N. Rasmussen congestive heart failure at Peyton House Hospice in Lewisburg, WVa. The former Cross Keys resident was 85.

The daughter of Meyer Jacobs, a liquor store owner killed in a 1939 k. robbery, and Lena Jacobs, who took over operation of the business, the former Marion Jacobs was born in Baltimore and raised in Canton and Southwest Baltimore. In 1947 she moved to Forest Park, where she graduated from Forest Park High School. Ms. Pokrass began her college career at what was then Baltimore Junior College, then enrolled at American University, from which she received a bachelor's degree.

In the 1960s she obtained a master's degree in social work from Howard University. She was employed as a social worker for a year, then in the late 1960s became a psychiatric social worker at Springfield State Hospital in Sykesville and later at the Johns Hopkins Hospital. In later years she saw patients privately at her Canterbury Road home, then at Cross Keys. She retired in 2007. 74, of Linthicum passed away on May 25, 2016.

Lois was born in 1941 in Baltimore, Maryland. She graduated from Brooklyn Park High School, Class of 1959. Lois worked for 30 years at Harbor Hospital Pharmacy. She was a member of the Linthicum Camping Club and the St. John's Lutheran women's Group.

Fawcett intercepted a message from the German air force and noticed a reference to the Bismarck and the French city of Brest a German officer noted the battleship was headed to Brest for repairs. She relayed her discovery to supervisors, and within a day the U.S. Navy spotted the Bismarck in the Atlantic Ocean. British warplanes and naval vessels descended on the Bismarck and it was sunk May 27, 194L More than 2,000 German crew members were killed. Her work was not made public for decades.

It wasn't until the late 1990s that her role in the sinking of the Bismarck came to light. Her husband of 66 years, Edward Fawcett, died in 2013.
