In 1894, J. W. Johnson, her beloved husband, a man well-known and much respected in the Southland, was called Home. Soon afterward Mrs. Johnson removed to the home of her son, who had for some years been practicing law in this city.

Since that time she has been the devoted companion of her son, daughter-in-law, and two grandchildren, by whom she will be sorely missed. Rlggs and Mr. Bugg members of the board of directors, of the new flour mill company which has been organized with $4,000 capital stock to build and operate a large flour mill at Barling, yhe company will also operate a sawmill in connection with the other industry. The site selected for the flour' mill is on -the Snider estate on which the late Jacob Snider built and operated the first mill in Northwest Arkansas before and after the civil war. The Snider mill supplied the territory within a radius of one hundred miles, and it was for years one of the most flourishing 'mills in Arkansas. Barling is a hustling trade center in Sebastian county, and it was the first town to avail itself of the Arkansas Central railroad in preference to the slow team method of hauling farm produce to the market in Fort Smith.
