"lhe State Treasurer is more than usl a person who counts the state's money," Land said at a Jackson press conference. "He must he the stale's chief financial thinker. I have lhe skill, the proven leadership abilities and lhe vision necessary in meet lhe responsibilities." land pointed to the Treasurer's work as a member of (lie Hoard of Economic Development, lhe Slate Bond Commission and lhe Board of the Public Employee Retirement System.
