Death elsewhere Elliabeth Harwood, one of Britain's best-known operatic sopranos In the 1960s and 70s, died Friday of cancer at age 52. Ms. Harwood, who specialized In lyric and coloratura roles and the music of Mozart, sang with nearly all the top British opera companies and appeared regularly in leading roles at the prestigious annual music festival In Salzburg, Austria, in the early 1970s. She made her operatic debut In 1960, singing Second Boy in "Die Zauberflote" at Glyndebourne in southern England. He was a mem-, ber of the Honolulu Elks Club, the Honolulu Symphony and the Honolulu Morning Music Club and received recognition for his volunteer work for Historic Hawaii, the Academy of Arts and the Manoa Valley Theatre. Casual attire. ERLINOA ELENA-MALUNAO VlERNES, 47, of Ewa Beach, died June 19, 1990, She was born in Wai-pahu and was employed at the Army Air Force Exchange Base, Hickam. Survived by husband, Juan Viernes; hanai son, Joshua Malunao; mother, Mary Y. Malunao; brothers, Raymond, HARRY M. BUDIN, B5, of Honolulu, died June 19, 1990.

He was born in Pawnee Valley, and retired as principal of Waimanalo School in 1966. He was also an elementary administrator at several schools on the Islands of Hawaii and Oahu. Survived by nieces, Barbara Nichols of California and Pearl Ann Adams of Colorado; nephews, Tyson Phillips and Paul and Rudy Budin, all of Colorado. Service in Colorado. Private burial in Ka-neohe.

MARGARET SAYRES CHAPIN, 86, of Kailua, died May 29, 1990. She was born in Honolulu. Survived by sons, Preston and Peter; brother, Frank M. Sayres of California; sister, Mrs. Luke (Betty) Hebert of Maui; grandchildren, great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

NORIO KENNETH MEGURO, 75, of Ewa Beach, died June 21, 1990. He was born in Papaaloa, Hawaii. Survived by daughter, Mrs. Johnny (Elsie) Baca of Colorado. A recent obituary incorrectly listed her name.

TOSHIKO TAKEMOTO NAGAYAMA, 75, of Hilo, died June 20, 1990. She was born In Hilo and was a retired proprietress of the former Fashlonette Beauty Salon In Hilo. She was also a member of the Waiakea Houseldts Lower Kumial. Survived by husband, Masaru 'Cliff" Nagayama; brothers, Setsuo and Takeshi Takemoto of California and Masayuki Takemoto of Pearl City; nieces and nephews. Friends may call 5 to 6 p.m.
