Brace yourself: By the CIA and the BI If this were true it would undoubt edly be unique in history as an act in which the CI A and the BI actually man aged to coordinate In fact of course there is no more evi dence that the CIA shot down Martin Lu ther King than that Jesse Jackson did Jackson as a matter of fact was stand ing next to Dr King when the fatal bullet was fired The budget has been trimmed in the years since detente began but one cannot suppose that if the CIA was engaged in shooting down black civil rights leaders have begrudged themselves some extra bullets to polish off Dr Jackson while they were at it 1 Jesse charge coming from a man of considerable intellect and re straint is foolish and prejudicial to seri ous revisionist inquiry by persuading the public at large that' the protesters are ideologists on the historical make Which brings us to the assassination of Sen Robert Kennedy Allard Lowenstein the lawyer politician author and refor mer who is given to turning the pages of progress from right to left has'' emerged as the leader of the movement to reexam ine the question whether Sirhan Sirhan actually killed Robert Kennedy He was asked recently: much: difference actually does it make?
