two years A native of Colfax Mr Teegarden was a retired farmer In 1909 he was married to May Galvin who survives He was a member of Plum Lodge at Colfax and he at tended Manson Congrega tional golf Caraway came to Pur due from his native Texas with Ralph Welch and played football for Purdue for three years He also was an outfielder at Purdue and hit 556 one year After graduation he played pro baseball with the St Louis Cardinals for a few years before getting into coaching He was athletic director at the Indiana State Prison for a time then later coached football at Lehigh and Massachusetts State His last position before re tiring was teaching high school at Carthage He is survived by the widow the former Eliza beth Mavity of West Lafay ette and a daughter MRS LIZZIE KELL Mrs Lizzie Kell 85 the mother of a Lafayette resi dent died Thursday night in her home at Russell Springs Ky after an ex tended illness A native and life resi dent of Kentucky she was married to Loren Kell who died in 1933 Surviving are four sons Jesse Kell of Lafayette Dewey and Otis Kell both of Russell Springs and Ed ward Kell of Louisville and one' daughter Miss Anna Mae Kell at home MISS NELLIE EWING Miss Nellie Ewing 92 formerly of 614 Brown St died at 7:15 pm Thursday at Ross Annex i She was born in Tippe canoe County and lived her life here She attended lo cal schools!
