Testing services include many types of evaluations, such as: individual Intelligence tests and educational testing, hearing and vision screening, speech and language evaluations, as well as others upon request from parents or educators. The Brookhaven Learning Resource Center is looking forward to providing quality services in the areas of testing, inservice training, instructional and professional materials. Desirable legislation was the topic covered at the Jan. 6 meeting of Omega Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma at the City Hall in Tylertown.

Mrs. Hilda Fortenberry, chairman of the Research committee, presented the program. Don Simmons, president of the Columbia Education Association and a director of the Mississippi Association of Educators presented the proposed legislative program of the MAE. Mrs. Miriam Simmons, a member of the Board of Trustees of State Institutions of Higher Learning, discussed budget recommendations for those institutions and recommended passage of Senate Bill 2089 dealing with television equipment for schools for use in teaching.

The new members were previously listed; other members include Constance G. Pope, Social Worker, Betty Crosby, Secretary and Marcia Calcote, for a time in Columbia, where she worked with Poole's and Lampton Company. They were both active members of First Baptist Church here before moving to Summit.

Mr. Soape worked with Hess Oil Company and had planned to retire in September. After moving to Summit, Mrs. Soape was director of the Baptist Student Union at W. H.

and Velma Soape of Summit were killed Saturday, Jan. 13, when struck by a train after their car stalled on a rail crossing in Summit. Mr. Soape tried to push the car off the tracks, but could not get out of the way before the freight train struck him and his wife according to Highway Patrol officers who investigated the accident. Mr.

and Mrs. Soape lived Southwest Junior College. Both were members of First Baptist Church there. They are survived by two daughters, Mrs. Jim (Sharon) Miller of Brookhaven, Mrs.

Loyd (Mary Lou) Pittman, of Mesquite, Texas, and six grandchildren. Funeral services were held Tuesday at First Baptist Church in Summit. Burial was in Woodlawn Cemetery, Summit. The Rev. Dennis Johns-sey.

Dr. Howard Aultman, and the Rev. Larry Fields officiated. The family has requested that memorials be sent in the form of donations to the Building Fund for the Baptist Student Union Building on the Southwest Junior College campus, co the Rev. Dennis Johnssey, pastor, First Baptist Church, Summit.
