member of the 1 United Methodist Church and servea witn me US Army during World War II Surviving with his widow are four sons William A and Robert both of Rensselaer and Dennis and Larry both at home and had resided in his home since the Aiiddle of November Mr Nicholson was born at Battle Ground and had lived most of his life there He grad uated 'from Battle Ground High School and he attended Lafayette Business College He was employed as a ma chinist helper at the Monon Shops for 35 years retiring in 1957 He moved to Lafayette in 1953 In 1964 he was married here to Glydia Stanfield Horn who survives Mr Nicholson was a member of the irst Christian Church 313 and Order of Eastern Star 381 at Battle Ground He was also a mem ber of the Jenks Rest Senior Citizeris Club Interstate Asso ciation of Retired Railway and International Association of Machinists His widow and sister are the only immediate survivors ROLLAND KOHL A former Lafayette resi dent Rolland Kohl 68 of Denver Colo died there Monday of an apparent heart attack Mr Kohl a native of St Louis Mo graduated from Purdue University in 1927 He was employed 35 years by General Electric at ort Wayne He retired in 1963 and inoved to Denver In 1930 he was married here to Lillian Powell who sur vives Also surviving are a daugh ter Miss Mary Jo Kohl of New York City one son Tom Kohl of Milford NY a brother Paul Kohl and He graduated from the old Monitor High School and for several years was employed by the County Highway Department He was married to Bessie Brailey of Toledo who sur vives He attended Schuyler Wesleyan
