TRIMBLE Sew and So Club Meets About 20 members of the So and Sew club enjoyed a sumptuous covered dish lunch. at the home of Mrs. Jackson July 20, with Mrs. Fairless serving as co-hostess. Talks were given by various members on the subjects of canning, sewing, nutrition and others.

Guests were Mrs. Alice Holmes and 'son, Victor of Tulsa, Leonard Jackson, who is home on furlough, and Robert Johnson of Gentry. And This IS Hay Allen Kirby lost about 600 bales of hay recently in a fire which also destroyed his barn. Allen isn't feeling so bad about the loss now. Here's why: A neighbor, Mrs.

Rev. and Mrs. G. Lemuel Fenn and children, George, Patricia and Phil11pp, arrived Wednesday afternoon for a visit with Rev. and Mrs.

A. Black was in Gentry on business Monday and we learn that a new "deputy" has arrived in time. to -help Bill finish up his term in that office. The youngster was Sunday afternoon and has been named William Edwin. Both the babe and mother are doing nicely, reports.

Ola Mae Burnwell and Mr. and Mrs. William Noe and daughter of Tulsa, spent Saturday night and Sunday in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Bert Tanuary.

Floyd Hogan of Maizie, Okla, spent the week end in the home of his I parents, and Mrs. Clarence Hagar. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Barney and children and Mrs.

Jane Mickels of Tulsa, spent the week end here attending the picnic and visiting relatives. Mrs. Effie Bell of near Leslie, Arkansas arrived last week to visit relatives and friends here and at Pryor, Oklahoma. Ralph Allegranza of Flint and a of the Colcord-'44 class spending 32. leave with home folks now.

He is with the Navy and is stationed in Texas. Mr. and Mrs. Ben Chamberlain arrived Monday from California, where they had been visiting relatives. Dick Cooper visited his wife last Thursday at Tahlequah.

Mrs. Guy Ward called on her mother Friday. The Maysville baseball team defeated Noel 5 to 4 Sunday. P. D.

CHASTAIN Pleasant Dennis Chastain was born March 23rd, 1874; departed this life July 27, 1944 at the age of 70 years," 4 months and 4 days old. He attended school in the old log school house at Fairmount near Gentry. was' converted at an early age and united with the Baptist Church at Springtown. moved his membership "to McAlister, later moved his membership back to Springtown where he was a member at the time of his passing. He became a member of the Masonio Lodge at Gentry in .1907 where he held membership' until the time of his passing.

He was also a 32nd degree Mason. At. the age of 21 he was united in marriage to Allie Susan Lott. To this union were born two sons, Loyd, Elrado Springs, and Howard -of Gentry; one daughter, Mrs. Julia Craig of Ponca City, Oklahoma.

His companion departed this life April 21st, 1901. In 1903 he was united in marriage to Mrs. Mamie Hargiss Coy. To. this union.

were born two sons, Daniel Jehu of Jasper, Texas and Thad David of Enid, Oklahoma. This companion passed away Sept. 22, 1939. He leaves to cherish his memory beside, the above mentioned children, five sisters, Mrs. Melissia.

Shields, Cortez, Colo; Mrs. Edna Deatherage; Ringold, Texas; Mrs. Mina Black, Cortez, Mrs. Maggie Martin, Cortez, and Mrs. Doriece Aldridge, Wewoka, Oklahoma; one brother, Lovell H.

Chastain; Cortez, 19 grandchildren and four great grandchildren. He had just rounded 50. years as watchmaker, jewelry manufactorer, goldsmith and engraver.
