RAY WILLIAMS Little Creetc Not so wide or deep Yes she graced you with her little feet tittle Creek Your water not so deep Looked so pleased at this meet clear and 1 1 cool to her feet Little Creek Your water cool and clear How you sparkled because She was here Little Creek- We had a large crowd at our decoration and singing at Shady Grove Sunday; The cemetary was beautiful with pretty flowers. We had a memorial service Sunday morning in memory" of bur loved ones buried tliere. We had lots of visitors and lots of food.

We thank everyone of the ladies that brought lunch. It was very much appreciated. The people of Cartersville Community were saddened by the death of Tip Mayes last week. We extend our sympathy to the family. He will be missed.

Eloise King had a birthday April 25. Her five children fixed her a birthday dinner. Hope you have many more birthdays. Eloise. The fourth Sunday night singing at New Shady Grove was good.

A large crowd turned out. Everyone seemed to enjoy being there. Little Derrick Holcomb, the son of Becky and Kevin Holcomb. has been real sick with a virus. He stayed in the hospital about three days last week.

He is doing fine now. Vera Thompson and Maggie Hohns from Brenlee Mountain came up Saturday and spent the night with me. We really enjoyed them being with us. We visited Brother Warren and Genoa Meadows for a while. We are hoping they will come back soon.

Chuck Wootten was able to be at the singing Sunday. He has just got out of the hospital. We hope he didn't over do himself by singing a Ider School receives plaque Ider School received a plaque for being a sponsor of Girl Scouting for more than five years at the annual Council Meeting on April 23 In Huntsville. Presenting the award are Judy Brewer, field director; Elizabeth Smith, service unit direc tor. Accepting the award are Eugene Smith, assistant principal and Wayne Hardeman, principal.

Dedication ceremonies will be held Memorial Day. May 25, at the cemetery which is located ten miles south of Phenix City and near Fort Benning. GA. The initial development of the cemetery includes 50 acres of the 280-acre tract donated to the VA by Russell County. Development of Fort Mitchell calls for more than 100.000 grave sites for veterans and dependents.

I have been around this young educator for several years, have had children of my own under his supervision and have seen his teachings and his handling of children in general.
