'Ann Crowe, president, introduced Pat Hynson of Fort Payne, who was with us for the day to give Instructions on making dough ornaments. Homemakers Club in county has been asked to nake ornaments to decorate the Court House Christmas tree. These will have the country style this year and all to be hand made.

Mrs. Hynson, a very good instructor made the program very interesting. Plans were made for the May meeting on the fifth and the subject will be painting bread dough ornaments. Mrs. 'Hynson will be there to teach Pat Hynson demonstrating to the Henagar Homemakers how to make dough ornaments.

Fainter Hews'1 was $217 raised. The Miss DeKalb contest was held Saturday night at Ider High School. The winners in the Toddler division are: 2nd alternate Ashley Wilks: 1st alternate Katie Crow; the winner Brittany Lea. The winners in the preschool division are: 2nd alternate Holly Hammonds; 1st alternate Brittany Johnson; the winner Vanessa Lancaster. The winners in the lower elementary division are: Melanle Frady.

Almee Gowrdouze, Kelly Hammonds, Hall McAdams and Christy Couch. The winners in the upper elementary division are: Amy York, Nicole McAdams. Maria Pannell. Sherry Helton and Jackie Ragsdale. The winners of the jr.

high division are: Angle Williams. Kim Blayloik, Tracy Clark, Cyndi Weldon and Allison Gourdouze. The winners of the sr. high division are: Cynthia Crowe. Wendy Bryant, Tracy Blevins, Stephanie Norman and Kelly Ladd.

The winners in the lower and upper elementary and jr. and sr. high divisions will compete May 2 at 6:30 p.m. in a county-wide contest at Sylvanla. Good luck to all you girls.

Warren G. Meadows had a skin cancer removed last week. Hope he continues to do well. Take care. Mr.

and Mrs. J.R. Shankles have been under the weather now for a couple of weeks. Hope they are feeling lots better real soon. Ruthie Greeson won the quilt given away by New Hope Church on Easter Sunday.

Because Ruthie is so smart with her crafts, I am sure she can really appreciate the work that went Into the quilt. Congratulations Ruthie. Pee Wee Cheerleader tryouts were held Friday after school. Members of the 9-10 squad are: Jennifer Morgan. Nicole McAdams, Kim Shrader.

Painter of Painter visited me Wednesday. Liberty Baptist Church Youth presented "Forever Sunday at the church. Wanda Wright and Arthur Dinger, both had birthdays in April. We would like to send deepest sympathy to the family of Nora Isom. She died last Friday.

Funeral services were Saturday at Adams-Brown Funeral Home Chapel with FUND BALANCES TRUST FUNDS HENDRIX burial in New Canaan Cemetery. I had a good Easter Sunday but Monday I worked In my garden. I got an earache so I went to the doctor Thursday. Earl Matthews of Geraldine died Wednesday at a Birmingham Hospital. Funeral services were held Friday at 2 p.m.

He is back home doing very well. He is anxious to be up and around. He was in Baptist Medical Center in Fort Payne. Edna Rogers has been sick all this week and had to stay off her job. Maybe she will be able to go back to work next Tuesday.

He hurt his leg about a month ago on his job. He had to have skin grafted and somehow it didn't do well. He had to have it done again. Hope you get well soon. Charlotte Heard and yours truly went to Atlanta to visit Betty Ann Shankles this weekend.

Traylor of Rainsville received two honors during Awards Day activities at Samford University on April 22. Traylor received the Herman Ross Arnold Memorial Award. given to the ministerial student who has been exemplified Christian humility and unselfish service, and has applied himself to the improvement of the mind. He also received a Presidential Scholar Award presented by Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. The scholarship Is given in recognition of potential leadership in the Baptist denomination.

A senior religion major, Traylor is the son of Mr. and Mrs. David J. Traylor of Rainsville. B.J.
