The rapper, whose real name is John Jackson, was arraigned on charges of criminal possession of a weapon. Bail was set at $2,500.

A security guard at Webster Hall, a downtown club, called police after seeing a member of Fa-bolous' entourage stick a gun in their van, police said. Officers later pulled the van over and allegedly found a 9mm pistol inside. The rapper's attorney, Albert Ebanks, said that the pistol belonged to a bodyguard hired by Fabolous' record company to protect him as he performed. The bodyguard told police that the gun was his, which should have cleared the 25-year-old rapper of criminal responsibility, Ebanks said.
