ALTON THUftSBAY, AUGUST 4, Hap Series Plan At Wood River SeftSoti Tickets to Sell for $2,50 WOOO RfVER, AUR. tickets for the series of programs i to be presented by the Wood River Entertainment Association Wood River Community High School will sell for $2.50, it was decided at a Tuesday night mentlnR the board of directors, Student tickets will sell for $2. The board mapped preliminary ptflhs for the ticket sales campaign and said that tickets for the fall Series will go on sale following the 'next meeting of the board of rll- fectors. This meeting is tentatively Scheduled to be within the next three weeks. The board also made plans to stimulate among organizations which sponsor the association and to initiate a system of renewing its list of financial guarantors.

Pour programs have been planned for the fall series, beginning with the appearance of Dr. Franz Polgar, hypnotist and mentalist, Oct. 14, Other programs are scheduled for Nov. 4, Feb'. 16, and March 9.

Polgar's program will feature mental telepathy, memory feats and power of suggestion. Aloha Baker, talking on "My Hawaii," will be presented Nov 4. An outstanding author-lecturer, her program will feature a movie of Hawaii. Ferrante and Telcfter, piano-duo, will appear here Feb. 16 for -the third program.

Members of the Wood River Township Chamber of Commerce said last night they do not object to the signs or methods of advertising for the ordinance now under consideration by the City Council to place advertising'plaques on park- Ing meters, but. do object to an outside firm coming in and getting the bulk of the Income from the ftdvcrttslng. City Council members decided at their Monday oneet.lng to Investigate the legality and advisability of attaching advertising signs to nil parking meters. The city would net 15 percent of the gross receipts from advertising on the sighs.

Action Is expected at the next Council meeting on signs which will display-both local and national advertising. The signs would be attached to each parking meter pole. They are a trl angular attachment; displaying three faces, each six, inches by eight inches, with advertising. It was decided at the Chamber's weekely meeting last night to bond tho treasurer and secretary of the organization. Guy Harper and Mervin Stahlhut were appointed as a committee to investigate the cost of the bond and offer recommendations for a- bonding com pony.
