Donald Smith read a paper on "Yankee Doodle," and Mrs. Bauer talked on the histories of the others and about the'influence of Longfellow on music. Two of the 75 poems of Longfellow, which have been set to music, were sung by Mrs. Dewey Woolverton. They were "Stars of the Summer Night" and "Indian Lullaby." The next meeting of the section will be at the home of Mrs Charles Dey of Bunker Hill on Nov.

300 children from the Wood River Grade end Junior High Schools became members of the Wood River Bicycle Safety Brigade sponsored by the Lions Club of Wood River during a meeting held at the Wood River School at 3 p. on October 18. Arrangements have been made for all members of the Bicycle Safety Brigade to register their bicycles with the Wood River police department without cost. This will be of much value in tracing lost or stolen bicycles. All members of the Safety Brigade will be given an attractive emblem to attach to their bicycles signifying that they are members of the Brigade.
