A written history of the City of Wood Rivpr will he compiled by Wood Rivi- Public Library, with the aid of residents of the city. Mrs. Mnbcl Wolf, librnrian.

In a communication to the city council, Mrs. Wolf states that the job has been put off for too long a time, and hns been tossed from one- sponsoring group to the other. The history will Include data on the city even before the Standard Oil Co. was constructed, according to Mrs.

Wolf, and will Include facts on the old "Benbow west of the Standard refinery, before Wood River was given Its rame. Much of the history will probably come from Interviews with older residents of the city, Mrs. Wolf believes. During part of his four nnd a half years of service, he was assistant director of the Camp Cnllan band at San Diego, Calif.

He was In the Philippines for six months. While stationed at San Diego, Elzkorn received am invitation from Herbert L. Clarke, director of the Long Beach Municipal Band, to appear as his band's guest baritone soloist. At present Etzkorn is employed as musical director nt McBride High School, St. Louis.
