Charles Pruitt receives fellowship in AAFP American Academy of Family Physicians. The degree of Fellowship may be attained in either of two ways: successful completion of 600 or more hours of accredited continuing medical study, or achievement of diplomate status in the specialty of family practice as a result of passing a certifying examination administered by the American Board of Family Practice. Fellowship entitles the conferee to use the title, "Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians," or The degree was conferred Sept. 22, upon more than 800 members of the Academy in conjuction with AAFP's annual convention and Dr. Charles Pruitt, Jr.

of Magee has been named a Fellow of the Braxtonians hold successful homecoming Braxton News by Elabel Russell Sunday Braxton Baptists met together for homecoming. Friends from far and near came for the day. So many of those who grew up in Braxton were graciously greeted and welcomed for a most bountiful dinner in the recreation building. Rev. Tommy Everett, a former Braxtonian, brought the homecoming message, which was greatly enjoyed.

In the afternoon, those interested in the cemetery business went to Calvary Baptist for their discussion. A turnover of officers was elected to serve for a year. This next annual meeting will be in Braxton Methodist Church. Calvary members served cake, sandwiches and punch at the close of the meeting. Mrs.

J.P. Russell enjoyed her children on Sunday when they all met at her home for the day. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Wilson have just returned from a vacation trip to the Northeast coast, visiting New York and other interesting places.

We have the report that several of our neighbors are ill and hospitalized: Mrs. Robert Taylor, Robert Different and Bobby Gordon have undergone surgery and Mrs. J.O. Broome has had a flare. up of old trouble.

We are glad to report she is feeling better. Mrs. Charles Wesley and girls came for a homecoming visit. They are now living and working in Meadville. It was good to see Mr.

and Mrs. Wesley Wallace, Mr. and Mrs. Phil Wallace, the Hartley boys and girls, the Walker sisters, Marshall Montgomery and Christine. There were so many we can't name them Loans for Romania The World Bank has approved two loans, totaling $190 million, to Romania to support construction of a canal connecting Cernavoda on the Danube with South Constanta- Agigea on the Black Sea and to develop irrigation works in an area 250 kilometers northeast of the capital, Bucharest.

THE MAGEE COURIER, THURSDAY, OCTOBER 22, 1981 OBITUARIES Mrs. Lois Jackson Lowery Mrs. Lois Jackson Lowery, 55, of Magee died Oct. 14 at Magee General Hospital. The Oklahoma native was a member of First Baptist Church of Magee.

Funeral services were conducted Oct. 17 at 3 p.m. at Colonial Chapel with Rev. Oliver Ladnier and Rev. Paul Padgett officiating.

Colonial Chapel of Magee was in charge of arrangements with burial in Magee Cemetery. Survivors include her husband Ray Lowery of Magee; two sons, Gary Lowery of and Roger Lowery of Jackson; three brothers; and four sisters. Mrs. Callie B. Magee Mrs.

Callie B. Magee, 84, of Baton Rouge, a former Jackson resident died Sept. 24, in Baton Rouge General Hospital in La. Mrs. Magee, a native of Magee, was a member of the Van Winkle Baptist Church.

She was the widow of Richard Norval Magee, Sr. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Thomas Simmons of Baton three sons, Vessen Magee of Gulfport, Ewell Magee and Richard N. Magee, both of Jackson; five step-son, Milson Magee of Tegucigalpa, Honduras, Whaley W. Magee of Mize, Howard Magee of Jackson, Revis Ward Magee of and Draughn G.

Magee of Magee; one step-daughter, Ruby Moore of Alabama; two brothers, Lauren Butler of Forrest, La. and Ross Butler of Magee; six sisters, Mrs. Beulah Johnson of Forrest, Mrs. Leona Kennedy, Mrs. Georgia Runnels and Mrs.

Myrtle Runnels, all of Magee, Mrs. Lois Bankston and Mrs. Rosia Turner, both of Jackson; 12 grandchildren and 18 great -grandchildren. Mrs. Ida Roberts Mrs.

Ida Roberts, 79, of Mt. Olive died Oct. 19 at Jefferson Davis County Hospital. The Simpson County native was a member of Hopewell Presbyterian Church. Funeral services were conducted Oct.

21 at 11 a.m. at Mims Mitchell Chapel with Rev. George Felton officiating. Mims Mitchell Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements and burial was in Hopewell Cemetery. Survivors include three brothers, Barney Higgins of Pinola, Richard Higgins and Jackson Higgins, both of Mt.

Olive; and one sister, Mrs. Alberta Roberts of Mt. Olive. Mr. Franklyn Grayson Mr.

Franklyn Grayson, 47, of Pinola died Oct. 16 at VA Medical Center in Jackson. The Simpson County native was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. Funeral services were conducted Oct.

19 at 2 p.m. at Mims Mitchell Chapel with Rev. Phillip Douglas officiating. Mims Mitchell Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements with burial in Polk Cemetery. Survivors include three Carl Grayson of Pinola, Randy L.

Grayson and Darryl R. Grayson, both of Monticello; two daughters, Mrs. Deborah Miss Karen P. Grayson, both of Monticello; four brothers, Glen Grayson of Bassfield, Dewitt Charles Grayson, Pinolath of New Hebron; four Grayson of C.H. Grayson and sisters, Mrs.

Mr. Timothy Franklin Little Mr. Timothy Franklin Little, 84, of Mize died Oct. 17 in Smith County General Hospital. The Smith County native was a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church.
