1974 MR. AND MRS. JAMES J. ZURN Sidney Couple Mark Anniversary Mr. and Mrs.

James J. Zurn of Sidney celebrated their fiftieth wedding anniversary Aug. 18 with an open house- in the Moose Lodge of Sidney. The open house was given by their children: Mrs. Mildred Bennett of Aurora, James Zurn of Indianapolis.

Bernard Zurn of Cary, Robert Zurn of Longmont, Gearld Zurn of North Bergen, N.J., and Richard Zurn of Sidney Center. The Zurns were married Aug. 21, 1924 in SS. Peter and Paul's Roman Catholic Church of Towanda, by the Rev. J.

J. McGluckin. They have 30 grandchildren and nine greatgrandchildren. Zurn retired from the Bendix Corp. in Scintilla.

Miss Karoul Weds Dr. Michael Riger The wedding of Miss Rhonda L. Karoul and Capt. Michael J. Riger.

performed the noon ceremony. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Karoul of Milton. Mass.

The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Frederick R. Riger of 35 Aldrich Binghamton. The bride was given in marriage by her father.

Mrs. Glen R. Karoul was her sister-in-law's attendant. Stuart A. Riger served as best man for his brother with Glen R.

Karoul, brother of the bride. Dr. Kenneth Sieman, Dr. James Kane. Rob Ayres, and Gabriel Ferber as ushers.

Immediately following the ceremony a reception was given. The new Mrs. Riger graduated from Milton High School and Tufts Dental Assistant -Ross Photographers MRS. M. J.

RIGER Rhonda Karoul Program. She was an instructor in the dental assistant proat Tufts University School of Dental Medicine, Medford, Mass. Riger graduated from Binghamton Central High School, the University of Buffalo cum laude and Tufts School of Dental Medicine. He is stationed in Okinawa for 30 months where the couple will live. For their honeymoon, the Rigers traveled across the country.

MR. AND MRS. LELAND PRATT Leland Pratts Mark Anniversary Mr. and Mrs. Leland Pratt of 1 Dale Court, Hillcrest, celebrated their fiftieth wedding anniversary Sunday with a surprise open house in the Endwell home of their son and daughterin-law.

Mr. and Mrs. William H. Pratt. The open house also was hosted by their other son and daughter-in-law.

Mr. and Mrs. James L. Pratt Jr. of Chicago, Ill.

The Pratts were married Sept. 13. 1924, in Ouaquaga. They have six grandchildren. Pratt is a retired United States Postal employe.

MacPhersons Mark Sixtieth Anniversary Mr. and Mrs. Neil R. MacPherson of Newark Valley celebrated their sixtieth wedding anniversary Aug. 18 with an open house in the Newark Valley United Methodist Church.

The open house was given by their daughter and son-in-law. Dr. and Mrs. W. Porter Swift of Binghamton and also their three grandchildren.

The MacPhersons were married Aug. 20. 1914. in Newark Valley by the Rev. Ward W.

Watrous. MacPherson was the owner of the MacPherson Funeral. Home of Newark Valley for more than 39 years. ENGAGEMENTS MISS WILCOX WilcoxPalmisano Mr. and Mrs.

James Wilcox of Maine, N.Y., announce the engagement of their daughter, Katherine Jean, to Domenico Palmisano, of 404 Irving Endicott. The future bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Palmisano of Alberobello, Italy. Miss Wilcox graduated from Maine-Endwell High School and State University Agricultural and Technical Institute at Cobleskill.

She is employed by Custom Foods Management Services as a food service manager at the Chenango Bridge Nursing Home. Palmisano is employed by Endicott Johnson Corp. An Oct. 5 wedding is planned. MISS DALE TERRY Terry-Cady The engagement of Miss Dale Frances Terry of Stoneham, to William J.

Cady of Salem, is announced by the bride-elect's mother, Mrs. Nell F. Terry of South Lancaster, Mass. The future bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs.

Leon B. Cady of 304 N. Meadowbrook Lane, Vestal. Miss Terry attended Atlantic Union College, South Lancaster. She is the chief secretary in the laboratory at New England Memorial Hospital, Stoneham.

Cady graduated from Greater Boston Academy, Stoneham. He is employed by General Electric Lynn, Mass. An Oct. 20 wedding is planned. Strauss-Alessandrini MISS SMITH Smith-Shaw Smith Swartwood Mr.

She is employed by Broome County. Shaw graduated from Binghamton Central High School and attended Broome Community College. He is employed by the Simulation Products Division of the Singer Kirkwood. A Sept. 28 wedding is planned.

She is a teacher at the Choconut Valley Elementary School, Choconut, Montrose Area school system. Palmisano graduated from Union- Endicott High School and Sullivan County Community College. He attended Broome Community College. Palmisano is a district manager for Prudential Life Insurance Co. of America.

Ernest Shaul of Chenango Forks. Miss Prislupsky graduated from Union-Endicott High School and attended Broome College. Windeatt graduated from the University of Sussex in England and received his master's degree in electrical engineering from the University of California at Santa Barbara.

He is lecturing in electronics at Kingston Polytechnic College while attending London Bible college in England. The couple will live in Twickenham, Middlesex, England, after a wedding trip to Whales and Southern Ireland. The bride graduated from North High School and is employed at the New York State Office Building. Albrechta served with the U.S. Marine Corps in the Korean War.
