Whichever way credit is given, Kui Lee's "I'll Remember You" is the hottest tune to come out of the Islands since Harry Owens wrote "Sweet Leilani" back in the 1940s. NOT SINCE Andy Williams' "The Hawaiian Wedding Song" and Elvis Presley's "Blue Hawaii" (back in the late '50s) has there been so much air play, especially on the East Coast, of an Island melody. And never have so many in so short a time rushed to record a Hawaiian number like "I'll Remember You." Don McDiarmid the song's publisher, said while no one version is really the big leader on the Mainland, there are some 15 different renditions available on records.

"Heavy promotion is under way in the East," he said yesterday. "One of them has to click." ODDLY, Kui Lee, the man who wrote the tune, has yet to record it. But many others have, including Don Ho The Aliis on Reprise, xndy Williams on Columbia, and Masako on Statco (the latter with Japanese lyrics). Also available are versions by the Johnny Mann Singers (Liberty), Vic Dana (Dolton), the Four Amigos AN ACTUAL PERFORMANCE OF THE NATIONALTHEATRE 'OPERATION'. coion IWTPriT TTTT? fnOF GREAT DDITAIM LJri I -Ml YOSHIKO KAYAMA IbAMU NAOAFO Tlie greatest Otliello even ly tlie greatest actor of our time.

D. C. Parker, president of the series, told season ticket holders via letter that the series faces another financial loss this year. He said costs were rising and prominent chamber music groups no longer accept lower than normal fees for performances here simply because they were passing through Honolulu.

PARKER AXX0UNCED this schedule for the year, with all concerts to be held at 8 p.m. in the University of Hawaii's Orvis Auditorium: March 8, Der Kammermu-siker of Zurich; May 18, the Cassenti Players of Vancouver, B.C.; May 26, the Kyn-del Quartet of Stockholm; Sept. 1, the Vienna Trio; Oct. 26, the Honolulu Symphony String Quartet. Season tickets are $10, and donations are tax deductible.
