"I don't think anyone wants to hear an interviewer's opinions, so I tried to keep myself in the background." With that sort of attitude Prince Edward is clearly not cut out for a job as a chat show host, but his new career as TV presenter takes a further step forward with this documentary about the Duke of Edinburgh's Award Scheme. It's the first of a pair, written and presented by the Prince, In which HRH sets out to discover whether the mind and body-stretching test for young people "really does help to encourage the full development of the individual." He's hardly likely to put in a negative report, being the son of the founder, holder himself of one of the Award's gold medals, and chairman of International Project 87 which is intended to Increase awareness of the Scheme and raise funds.
