(S) C'est la belle farce FEYDEAU'S A Flea In Her Ear, one of the big hits of the Olivier regime at the Old Vic, returns to the same address in a new production by Richard Jones. Jim Broadbent doubles as an upright but impotent insurance broker and a drunken hotel porter. By a strange coincidence, there is more French farce at Greenwich Theatre with the arrival of the Derby Playhouse production of La Biche's The Piggy Bank in a version by C. P.

Taylor. Susan Todd directs this story of a group of provincials who empty the contents of their china piggy and head for Paris. Bernard Lloyd, Susan Colverd, Barry McCarthy lead the cast. Dame Judi Bench's Renaissance Theatre Company production of John Osborne's Look Back In Anger, so far seen only in charity performances, comes into the Lyric Shaftesbury Avenue for a four-week season with Kenneth Branagh and Emma Thompson heading the cast. Farquhar's The Recruiting Officer and Timberlake Wer-tenbaker's Our Country's Good return to the Royal Court after a triumphant Australian tour.

Max Stafford-Clark directs a largely new cast, including Amanda Redman, Clive Russell and Julien Wadham. Donald Breed's new play, Veterans' Day, which opened in Newcastle upon Tyne this week with Michael Gambon and Jack Lemmon, moves to the Manchester Palace from Monday on its pre-West End tour; and the Bill Ken-wright tour of Hair comes to the Manchester Opera House. El Gran Circo Teatro, the Chilean company, is in Manchester this weekend. The Green Room are staging Roberto Parra's La Negra Ester in a tent at the Castlefield Roman Fort site, Liverpool Road, tonight and tomorrow. CHICHESTER CLOUD NINE Caryl Churchill's witty and sharp look at sexual politics moves from Victorian Africa to 1970s London.
