Castle Park Arta Gorstro (0923- THERE'S a new, very clever and charming Mayfair gallery simply called Entwistle, and the first show there presents some intriguing works by the Belgian symbolist Leon Spilliaert, whose drawings and pastels of the turn of the century are often said to be a link between German romanticism and the surrealism of modern times.

A gloomy artist, but this is a rare, worthwhile exhibition. Best contemporary show this week is at Marlene Eleini, where the young Scottish artist Kate Whiteford demonstrates how optical fights between red and green can summon, at least in her remarkable paintings, ancient and runic knowledge. Richard Wentworth has opened an ambitious show of two separate installations at the Lisson Gallery and, at the Waterman's Art Centre, as well as on several poster sites in west London, Michael Feel examines imagery from advertising and the tabloid press. Shows outside London are rather strong as historical retrospectives. At the Graves in Sheffield there is a show of 60 works from the Tate's Chantrey Bequest, including Alma-Tadema, Laura Knight, L.
