and Mrs. John Allen Dees of Montgomery, and the bridegroom's parents are Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Virden Morse of Pass Christian, Miss. She is the granddaughter of Mrs.

Harold William Bloom and the late Mr. Bloom of Montgomery, and of Mrs. Arthur Mason Nottingham and the late Morris Seligman Dees of Mt. Meigs. He is the grandson of the late Mr.

and Mrs. John Fryer Phillips of Yazoo City, and of the late Mr. and Mrs. Hugh McDonald Morse of Jackson, Miss. Mrs.

William Inge Eskridge was the matron of honor; Leigh Anne Beringer was the maid of honor, and Elizabeth Russell Bloom, cousin of the bride, was the maiden of honor, all of Montgomery. Bridesmaids were Mrs. John Allen Dees sister-in-law of the bride; Martha Kehres Dubina; Mrs. John Wesley Durr; Holly Elizabeth Kitchens; Mary Dawson McCall, all of Montgomery; Ellie Maureene Dees of New York City, cousin of the bride; Mrs. Travis Gallion Bear of Los Angeles; Mrs.

Wallace David Burnett; Kelly Jo Dallmeyer, both of Washington, D.C; Mrs. William Pope Langdale of Valdosta, Hillary Elizabeth Dattel of Chicago; Mrs. Lloyd Johnson Sarber III of Roanoke, Margaret Montgomery Morse of Richmond, sister of the bridegroom; and Sabra Robeson Coe of Virginia Beach, Va. Katherine Mary Beazley of Montgomery was the junior bridesmaid. Laura Catherine Levy of Montgomery; and Elizabeth Anne Bis-trong of Ponte Vedra Beach, both cousins of the bride, were the flower girls.

as a stock broker. The bride is employed by Dees Communications Inc. as the publisher of Off To College magazine. Bloom of Montgomery, cousin of the bride, was the ring bearer. The bridegroom's father served as best man.

Groomsmen were Harold William Bloom Charles Leslie Dees; Morris Seligman Dees all uncles of the bride; Harold William Bloom III, cousin of the bride; John Allen Dees brother of the bride; Lawrence Bear Hughes; Jonathan Marcus Traylor, all of Montgomery; Jesse Labert Drummond of Birmingham; Kent Emerson Lovelace III of Gulfport, Stephen Louis Barnes; Travis Gallion Bear, both of Los An Jarrett McLendon and Chris Stirling served as best men. Groomsmen were Stuart Lackey, brother of the bride; Keith Kester; and Trey Glenn. Caleb Lovelady was the ring bearer. Cecilia Armstron directed the wedding day events, and Lee and Lans designed the flowers. Julie Jefcoat and Wayland Blake provided a program of nuptial music.

A reception at the church followed the ceremony. Honeymoon plans were kept a secret from the bride, and the couple will reside in Wetumpka. Both are graduates of the University of Alabama. The bride is employed by First Montgomery Bank in New Accounts, and the bridegroom is employed by Water-sports Etc. in Montgomery as Shannon Page Lackey of Montgomery and David L.

Gray of We-tumpka were married May 11, 1996, at Eastern Hills Baptist Church. The Rev. Rick Marshall officiated. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs.

W. Russell Lackey of Montgomery, and the bridegroom's parents are H. Leonard Gray of Wetumpka and Judy Smitherman of Prattville. She is the granddaughter of Nathan and Alma Jefcoat, and of Mary C. Lackey, all of Montgomery.

He is the grandson of Dot Smitherman of Prattville, and of Alice Gray of Valley. Kristi Blake was the matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Page Gray, sister of the bridegroom; and Amanda Williams. Aligrace Love-lady was the flower girl. A 2 p.m., June 8, 1996, wedding is planned at Ridgecrest Baptist Church.

The bride-to-be is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thurston Pouncey of Montgomery, and of the late Mr. and Mrs. Paul Martin ofTitus.

She is employed by Miltope Corp. in Hope Hull. The bridegroom-to-be is the grandson of Mary Lou Byrd and the late J.R. Byrd of Patterson, and of Wylene Freeman and the late F.B. Freeman of North Augusta, S.C.

He is employed by Association of Self Insurances Inc. and J.L. Freeman Construction Co. Inc. 'X V.

1 Turnipseed-Nix BIRMINGHAM Marian Melissa Nix and Thaddeus Lee Tur-nipseed were married 5:30 p.m., April 20, 1996, at Brookwood Baptist Church. Dr. Paul Basden and the Rev. Tommy Sanders officiated. The bride is the daughter of Mr.

and Mrs. Frank Albert Nix of Birmingham, and the bridegroom's parents are Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Lee Turnipseed of Montgomery. Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore her mother's gown featuring long, lace sleeves decorated with tiny, standing lace blossoms centered with pearls, and a fitted basque bodice fashioned of Chantilly lace.

The skirt, posed over hoops, was of sheer, silk organza with a Chantilly lace border and a cathedral-length train, both beaded with pearls and sequins. The fingertip-length veil, also worn by the bride's mother, was bordered with Alencon lace roses. Melody Nix served her sister as honor attendant. Bridesmaids were Michelle Spivey, Stephanie Freeman, Laura Traylor, Mary Jane Baker, Lesleigh Carmichael, Heather Allen, Cara Buckley, Emily Cannon, Andrea Robertson, Ashley Norris, and Caroline Ward. Marti Spivey, niece of the bridegroom; and Anna Beck, cousin of the bride, were the flower girls.

Winston Spivey, nephew of the bridegroom, was the ringbearer. The bridegroom's father and grandfather, Hugh Moore, both of Montgomery, served as best men. Groomsmen wee Chris Nix, Alan Hargrove, John McPherson, Matt Wethington, Beau Freeman, Mark Traylor, Jason Cole, Brad Durham, Trevor Morgan, Robb Borden, and Mickey Conn.
