Tribune Wednesday, Oct. 28, 1992 Soybean crop estimated largest in 10 years WASHINGTON (AP) The 1992 soybean crop, estimated at 2.1 billion bushels, would be the largest since 1982 and the third largest on record, according to a report by the Agriculture Department. "This season's crop was produced on only 58.1 million harvested acres, but a record yield (36.3 bushels per acre national average) boosted crop size," said the report on oil crops this month by USDA's Economic Research Service. "This year's crop will encounter a National Weather robust demand for soybeans and soybean products both domestically and for export," it said. Prices for soybean meal are expected to average $170 to $190 a ton this season.

Prices for soybean oil are expected to average 17 to 20 cents a pound. 2.7 percent rise in food, seed and industrial use of corn is expected to boost corn oil production by 3 percent to 1,800 million the report said. Carson of Houston; a daughter, Kathy Bellaw of Kokomo; a brother, Charles Carson of Bushnell, three sisters, Martha Elleman, Helen Merrell and Thelma Harrington, all of Kokomo; and da grandchild.

Kathleen Mahaney TIPTON, Ind. Kathleen Joan Mahaney, 42, 454 Columbia died at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 27, 1992, in Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. She was born Feb.

9, 1950, in Kokomo, a daughter of Raymond "'Bud" and Joan (Aerne) Ripberger. July 25, 1980, she married Kenneth Mahaney, who survives. Mahaney was a secretary at Landmark Title in Indianapolis and had been a beautician for 20 years. She was a 1968 graduate of Tipton High School and a member of St. John's Catholic Church and Psi Iota XI Sorority.

She also was involved with the Tipton Pork Festival. Also surviving are a son, Marc Stout of Norfolk, a daughter, Laurie Stout of Tipton; a stepdaughter, Kelly Harshman of Kokomo; her parents of Tipton; three brothers, Dan and Ronnie Ripberger, both of Tipton, and Bud Ripberger of Ypsilanti, and two sisters, Cindy Essig of Tipton and Amy Hoover of Anderson; and one stepgrandchild. Services are at 10 a.m. Friday in St. John's Catholic Church.

The Rev. Fred Gschwind will officiate. will be in St. John's Cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m.

in 1974. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans at Anderson and Channel Hawks CB Club of Elwood. He served in the Army from 1940 to 1945. Also surviving are three sons, Donald Reynolds of Windfall, Archie Reynolds of Elwood and James Reynolds of Tipton; two daughters, Margaret Morrison of Tucson, and Linda Hursh of Kempton; two brothers, Virgil Reynolds of Garden City, and Carl Reynolds of Nevada; two sisters, Mary Cagle of Sikeston, and Grace Redman of North Carolina; 15 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. Tuesday, Oct. 27, 1992, in Jasper County Hospital. She was born June 20, 1936, in Delphi, a daughter of Marcus "'Pat" and Mary (Shuey) Reifert. Oct. 9, 1954, in Delphi, she married Tillman Abbott, who survives.

Abbott had been a secretary for Mahlon Kerlin, SAYCO and Pioneer Seeds in Flora where she was in charge of the detasseling program. She had worked at the Dairy Barn in Delphi and was a volunteer secretary for Delphi Christian Church of which she was a former member. She was a 1954 graduate of Delphi High School and attended Methodist Hospital School of Nursing. She was a member of Iroquois Valley Christian Church, Also surviving are three sons, Farris W. Abbott of Camden R.R.2, John C.

Abbott of Carterville, and Dirk B. He was born Sept. 6, 1906, in Tennessee, a son of Lewis and Elizabeth (Griffin) Elliott. In 1925, he married Willa May Bowen, who preceded him in death. Elliott Elliott retired from Chrysler Motors in Kokomo, Ind. He was an associate pastor of Wayman African Methodist Episcopal Church in Kokomo and attended Worldwide Church of God here.

Surviving are a daughter, Juanita Mosley of Milwaukee; a sister, Odell Whitley of Kokomo; and two grandchildren. A son and a brother preceded him in death. Services are at 11 a.m. Saturday in Wayman AME Church in Kokomo. Burial will be in Crown Point Cemetery in Kokomo.

Heedlie M. Cobb, 83, 129 Poplar died Monday, Oct. 26, 1992. He was born June 18, 1909, in Muncie, the son of John and Allie (Wood) Cobb. Sept.

2, 1934, he married Elizabeth Breedlove, formerly of Howard County, who survives. Cobb was a graduate of Muncie Central High School, Indiana Central College and Bonebrake Theological Seminary. He holds a master's degree from Butler University and a doctorate from Indiana Central College. A pastor for 60 years, he had taught at Taylor University and pastored churches in Clay City, Crawfordsville, Rays Crossing, Hartford City and Richmond. He retired from First United Methodist Church at New Castle.
