The Missouri, Mississippi and Red rivers and their tributaries, swollen by the record snowfalls of the recent winter, sent floods turning across hundreds of thousands of acres in the Dakota Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa and Nebraska. On a gnarled hill in Korea, generalsand privates trudged up the slopes to an outdoor chapel for Easter services. Seven members of an American division's band played in subdued tones as the men gathered at sunrise. At the peak ot the hill stood a chipped stone cross. The division chaplain had arranged a make-shift altar on a narrow shelf a hundred feet from the top of the hill.
