Matron Active Congregational Church Was III Short Time In Mrs Mary Henderson 53 the wife of Rev Norman Henderson pastor of the First Congregational Church died in a local hospital early today following a short illness Mrs Henderson was a native of Wisconsin and had resided in Fresno for twelve years She was an active worker In affairs at the church assisting in various religious efforts in addition to aerving on many church committees Native Of Wisconsin Mrs Henderson was born in Dayton Wis on January 27 1883 Her mother Mrs Mary Josephine Dalrymple who survives her is a cousin of Franklin Pierce one time president of the United States Her father Frank Dalrymple also was born in Wisconsin and was a noted sportsman owning his own race track at Madison Wis He was the representative of the federal government in the purchase of cavalry horses for use during the civil war On her side Mrs Henderson has a lineage back to colonial days and while never a member was eligible to the Daughters of the American Revolution As a younger woman she was associated with Jane Addams at Hull House Taught School She received her education in Wisconsin Nebraska and Chicago After teaching school In the Middle West she took up a business career in Chicago where she became the private secretary to the district manager of an oil company Later she became a director of religious education under Dr James A Vance then the minister of the Hyde Park Church of Chicago and last year moderator of the general assembly of the Presbyterian Church Mrs Henderson celebrated her twenty-fifth wedding anniversary last June She is mourned by three children Wallace Norman and Mrs Robert Barnard and a granddaughter Mary Jo Barnard Besides her children she is survived by two
